Great cultural experience- with a little geography thrown in!! - Great, informative tour with Andres. We visited the Palalua volcano - too foggy to see the village inside, but that’s Mother Nature for you!! Andres gave us a great narrative about the volcano and culture there. And the Museum was more than a science experiment into the physics of the equator - it was a glimpse into the indigenous culture of the region. Overall great experience.

A must do at Quito - We were picked up on time by Javier and reached the Pululahua Crater in about an hour. During the drive, Javier provided a good introduction to Quito and explained the places we were going to visit. Unfortunately, we could not fully enjoy the crater view due to dense fog. After having some coca tea at a small shop near the viewpoint, we continued to our next stop, the Museo Intiñan. A separate guide took us around this interactive museum, and it turned out to be a very worthwhile visit that lasted about an hour. Our final stop was the Mitad del Mundo Monument, where we took a few photos at the equator line. Overall, it was a worthwhile tour and a must-do when visiting Quito. We chose a private tour because most group tours operate in the morning. This afternoon tour started at 2 pm and we were back in the city before 6 pm.

Center of the world! - This monument marks the exact latitude 0* 00' 00" on the equator that separates the northern and souther hemisphere. Cool spot forgets of creative photos. Nearby shops sell souvenirs at reasonable prices.
