This market is renowned for the sale and exchange of animals, and you’ll also find a variety of local fruits, vegetables, and foods. - Saquisili - We will visit the Saquisili indigenous market (only on Thursdays). - Canon del Rio Toachi - On our way to Toachi Canyon, we will visit an indigenous hut to observe the daily life of an indigenous family, including their living conditions, diet, and farming practices. It is customary to leave a small tip (1 to 3 USD) for the family. Upon arrival at Toachi Canyon, we’ll stop to admire the breathtaking view.
- Laguna Quilotoa - Our final destination is the stunning Quilotoa Lagoon. Here, you can hike down to the lagoon’s shores and rent a kayak (approximately $5 for 15 minutes). You can also rent a horse to ride back up (approximately $10) or hike back up if you prefer. Afterward, we will have lunch.
- Tigua - Enjoy the paintings, culture, and landscape of Tigua.
- Romerillos - Romerillos (only on Sundays) is a peak in Tocachi, Pedro Moncayo Canton, Pichincha, with an elevation of 3,276 meters. Located near the village of Tocachi, we will make a brief visit to the town’s market.
