- Pululahua Volcano & Geobotanical Reserve - Our Mindo Cloud Forest Day Tour begins at 8:00 am from Quito, heading northwest through Pichincha Province and crossing various climatic zones. Our first stop is the Pululahua Volcano, where we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the crater. You’ll see native plants like bromeliads, orchids, and some medicinal species.
- San Tadeo Birding - Want to feed hummingbirds right from your hand? This is the place to do it. You’ll also see toucans, tanagers, agoutis, squirrels, orchids, and bromeliads. Bring binoculars and a camera with a good zoom for an amazing experience.
- Mariposas de Mindo - After birding in San Tadeo, we’ll head to Mindo town and visit the butterfly farm. Here, you’ll learn about butterfly anatomy and reproduction in their natural habitat. Hummingbird feeders along a small trail offer great photography opportunities.
- Nambilla Cascadas - Next, we’ll journey to the cloud forest and explore trails leading to the waterfalls. A short drive from Mariposas de Mindo takes us to Cascadas Nambillo. We’ll take a cable car to another section of the cloud forest and hike to the Nambillo waterfall or the Waterfall Route, which takes about 1.5 hours. Afterward, we’ll enjoy lunch in a serene and beautiful setting.
- Mindo - After lunch, we’ll relax with a chocolate-tasting activity. Yumbos is the best spot in Mindo for artisanal chocolate. Then, we’ll head back to Quito.

Mindo cloud forest trip - I had an amazing time with Kathy having stimulating conversations and seeing so many colourful birds in one day, including some that are hard to spot. The butterfly farm was cool too, although hummingbirds are definitely my favourites. Lunch was so delicious I polished the plates. Highly recommend the tour and Kathy as your guide

Extraordinary day in the Mindo cloud forest - Wonderful visit of Mindo with our guide Galindo. We learned a lot about life in Ecuador and the birding experience was incredible. The entire day was extraordinary . Thank you so much Galindo !

I measure a magical place full of biodiversity! - This tour is amazing for bird watching, having the opportunity to see hummingbirds so close, tour the cloud forest, and see the beautiful transition areas between the mountains and the coast. It is definitely something I recommend doing!

Magical Mindo! - This was a private solo tour, so not cheap, but it was a marvellous
, once-in-a-lifetime experience. My guide, Kathy was very knowledgeable on wildlife and history and adaptable to changes in itinerary (I had already done a chocolate tour,for example,so missed it out) and she felt like a friend by the end of the day. Also had a delightful meal in Mindo. Highlights were seeing a tyra ( forest predator mammal) and having hummingbirds feed from my hand.

Amazing experience with knowledgeable , adaptable , fantastic guide Kathy Rea - A once in a lifetime experience of a day mainly in the Mindo Cloud Forest with the most caring and knowledgeable guide Kathy Rea, who enhanced the excitement of each moment with her masterful use of her camera leaving us with unforgettable memories. Also, the other elements such as the wonderfully scenic lunch,waterfall hike,cable car ride over the forest valley and chocolate tasting/facial and importantly bird watching were never rushed leaving us feeling that the very long day was all truly worthwhile and highly recommended.

Mundo cloud forest - Ismael was an amazing guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, and tailor make our experience to what we wanted. We particularly enjoyed the humming birds and butterflies.

Varied and delightful. - I am sure I have already reviewed this as a very special outing. Our guide went out of his way to accomodate our special interests and needs. I highly recommend Ecuador A Color and, on my return to Ecuador, will use them again.

Great way to spend an extra day from Quito! - Kathy was a wonderful guide full of knowledge of the region, plants, and animals. We had a great day hiking, looking at birds, and getting a lunch of local fare to experience.

Excellent experience - This was one of the best day tours I have ever taken. Pato, the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to adjust the tour to accommodate what we liked and there was so much to do in Mindo. The birds and butterflies were cute. The ziplining was exciting. The hike was beautiful. The tour was fun. I would highly recommend this tour.
