• Alambi Reserve - Next, we drive northwest towards Alambi, arriving at this bird-watching center in about 30 minutes. Here, we can observe hummingbirds, toucans, orioles, and tanagers for 35 minutes. Admission is $5.
• Tarabita y Santuario de Cascadas Mindo - We then proceed to the Mindo cable car, a 40-minute drive passing through the town of Mindo. The cable car spans 500 meters, offering an exhilarating ride above the treetops. On the other side, we begin a hike to visit the Nambillo waterfall, a journey that takes about an hour on an easy to moderate trail. Admission is $5.
• Mariposas de Mindo - A 25-minute drive brings us to the Mindo butterfly farm, where we can observe various butterfly species and learn about their reproduction and lifespan. We will spend about 40 minutes here. Admission is $8.
• Yumbos Chocolate - We head back to the town of Mindo, a 20-minute drive, for a chocolate tour that lasts approximately one hour. This cozy place also offers a variety of lunch options in town. Admission is $10. The return trip to Quito takes about three hours, with tourists being dropped off at their designated address.
