Amazing tour guide they have. - Our tour guide Kevin, is the best. Very caring, very knowledgeable, he will take care of you. We glad had him being our guide, the tour is adding 3x times more fun because of him. The drive to get there is long, about 3.5 hour/each way. But the lagoon is so much nicer in person than in the pic, the pic on internet always looks boring to me, until I get there to see. Prepare for some good hike, hiking stick must have or ask if they can rent to you. It’s located at higher latitude, so hiking up be prepared, or you can spend $10 to ride the horse up.

Fun experience - We had a great tour visiting the local market, a local home, and Quilotoa with our guide Victor. Though we didn't descend to the lagoon (some of our group did and said it was grueling walk back up to the crater rim), we walked along the crater rim trail and enjoyed the sights. The visits to the market and local home were also educational and enjoyable (try the humitas)!

Gabriel is the best! - Our tour guide Gabriel was great. He showed a deep knowledge and enthusiasm when talking about his home country of Ecuador and in particular the specific sites we visited. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Also he spoke great English.

Great side tours along the way! - Obviously the main attraction was Quilotoa but what a difference it made to stop at the market and a family’s home. The ride was long so the stops were helpful in that regard but they were also fun to do!

Laguna Quilotoa is breathtaking - The actual Laguna (lake) was breathtaking but be prepared because it gets very cold being so high up. Walking down to the actual Laguna takes about 40min to an hour, based on how in shape you are and coming up is hell (you can pay $10 to ride a horse up). We also got to meet an indigenous family and stopped at a shop that had wonderful artwork made by the native people, worth every cent to support native work. We were scheduled to leave at 7am and didn't leave until 7:20ish because the tour guide was running late (hint why I didn't give a 5star). We had to ask the driver to stop after 2:30hrs because we were starving. They were good at accommodating but make sure you speak up. The tour guide was decent, wish their was more interaction though.
