Guests will be picked up from the hotel. The first stop is in the morning to board the cable car. After a 20-minute ride in the cabin, guests disembark to hike in the mountains, reaching a swing in the clouds. From this vantage point, there is usually a breathtaking view of Quito city. It’s an excellent spot for photography or simply enjoying nature in the western Andes. The entire Avenue of the Volcanoes can be seen from this height, especially between July and September.

  • Intinan Museum - Stand on the equator line: (2,439 msl / 8,001 feet)
The second destination is the Equator Line at the renowned Intiñan Museum. Established in 1989 around centuries-old huts, it aims to preserve the culture of the equinoctial peoples and the Lulumbamba indigenous community (San Antonio de Pichincha). Visitors can learn about the equatorial line and participate in experiments demonstrating the Earth’s forces at the equator, such as the Coriolis effect. Don’t forget to bring your passport to get it stamped with the middle of the world symbol.

  • Quito Old Town - Explore the historic center of Quito:
At this point in the day, a lunch break at one of the popular restaurants near Plaza Grande is recommended. Guests can try the special locro de papas (potato soup), a beloved dish in Quito. Afterward, the tour continues to explore more about the first UNESCO World Heritage city, designated in 1978.

  • Church of the Society of Jesus - Renowned for its baroque architecture, this church is also known as the golden church. It is a true gem of Quito. Perfect day out - This was my second trip with Eduardo after a great time in the Mindo Cloud Forest. For this trip it was just me and Eduardo so we started with a trip up the Teleferico to enjoy the view before visiting the middle of the world museum at the equator. We then spent the afternoon visiting the old town where Eduardo gave his expert tour explaining the history of Quito before we had a traditional lunch. Highly recommended, brilliant door to door service and a very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly guide. Thanks Eduardo!
