Loved the art, the food and Santiago's company! - Santiago introduced me to delicious local foods in unique locations. We were in the Floresta neighborhood of Quito which is full of great street art. We also visited a fun art gallery. Santiago is very knowledgeable about many subjects. We finished the night with a glass of warm wine, a local custom.

I unexpectedly traveled... - I unexpectedly traveled with my mom via Houston. lol. Upon the meetup, we were hosted by Santi! He was definitely informative, knowledgeable & passionate about his native country of Ecuador. During the tour he took us to several spots in which we enjoyed all the food & learned about local art, politics & culture. I highly recommend this tour & Santi as he will give & provide food for thought!!

We loved Quito After Dark! - Santiago took us on a wonderful journey, starting with a gallery featuring well known and up-and-coming street artists (think Obey, who did the famous blue and red Obama poster which said “Hope.” We then walked through a lively part of the historic district, while he showed us murals and explained the significance, interspersed with delicious traditional food from different sites. He was engaging, interesting, and knowledgeable, and showed us a part of Quito that we would have never found on our own. We loved it, and our teens were thrilled. Thanks, Santiago!

Art & Food- a wonderful combination - I enjoyed my tour with Santi. At first, I thought I had the wrong tour because he was sharing information about street art and its evolution. I said to myself- am I on the wrong tour? Subsequently, he explained that the food part would be the second half of the tour. I believe it might be a trend as I had just been to Colombia where a friend described a food tour that she went on that ended up being about a lot more than food- where she had learned about the history of the city and a whole lot more. If it is a trend, I am very glad it is. The first part of the tour which included hearing about the evolution of street art, the current political situation, and the link between the two was not only exciting, it added context to the location and the tour. The stop at an art studio/museum might have been my favorite part, but I prefer hanging where locals are. The food stops included places where locals go as well and gave insight into which foods are traditional and/or important to the culture. Santi was fun, informative, patient, and kind. It was an enjoyable way to see the city at night.
