Important place to visit - This was a very sobering, sad but important place to visit. You come away wanting to make the world a better place. Mr Ken was an excellent tour guide. He gave us a great background to the war, pointed out important sites on our way out of Hoi An, showed us particular items of interest in the museum and shared his extensive knowledge about the site. Worth the visit.

Sad but important day - Our guide Ken was so knowledgeable about the history of Vietnam as well as what happened at the My Lai Massacre. Our driver, Nam, was also a pleasure.

Important history detailed by extremely knowledgeable guide - The visit to My Lai itself is short, but the true value of the tour is the hours of firsthand experiences shared by the tour guide, Mr.Ken. We were lucky to be able to hear his story, and it has been an important part of our trip to Vietnam. Watching various documentaries before attending the site is helpful if you are not already familiar with the history of this event. A 30 minute video produced by Al Jazeera is shown at the massacre site before entering. We would recommend watching the Ken Burns documentary on this or the interview with the photographer that took the famous photos of the massacre which were published making the American public aware of what happened in 1968. We were picked up by two people, a private driver and Mr. Ken, and we enjoyed our lunch at a local cafe. We highly recommend this experience while we are still living in a time to be able to hear firsthand accounts of life in Vietnam during this time

Excellent historic and somber day trip - I was picked up at my hotel in Da Nang by Mr. Kim and driver in a passenger car. That worked out very well as the ride to My Lai is long but the car is comfortable. Mr. Kim begins the ride to My Lai by revealing the history of Vietnam. I have to say the entire visit to My Lai was quite surreal for me as I was the only one there that day save for a group of Dutch tourists. While I was exploring the village of My Lai and the scene of the tragedy, I didn't really get a sense of the experience itself as I had thought I would. The horrific photographs and artifacts are everything we were exposed to in the US. Still, it was a very somber experience. The ride back to Da Nang was actually the highlight of this day long excursion as Mr. Kim revealed his personal experience of working for the US during the war, almost escaping the fall of Saigon and his 2 years in a 're-education camp.' Thats the part of the Vietnam war Americans don't hear. At the suggestion of Mr. Kim we detoured to the little known monument of Chien Thang/Nui Thanh. A historical point that I found fascinating and intriguing, and of which there is an absolute dearth of information about. On your way back to your hotel, be sure to ask Mr. Kim for a private tour of this erie and incredibly significant location. We stopped for lunch and this was another highlight for me as I was completed for my mad chopstick skills by our driver. I was begining to think no one even noticed! My Lai is there as it was. The history is here as it is now. Until you are there can you process the experience for yourself.

Important part of history that should not be forgotten. - Among the numerous basket boat tours, marble mountain and other activities a visit to My Lai might seem unusual to those who do not know what happened there. I wanted to visit My Lai and see the area where the infamous massacre took place during the Vietnam war. Luckily Andy offered one of the only tours I could find to My Lai. Everything was easy to arrange and quick. Our guide was Mr. Ken, an absolutely fantastic man who experienced the war first hand. His English is top-notch, and his stories will amaze you. Could not have wished for a better experience. I highly recommend visiting My Lai. No, it is not pleasant to see, but it is impressive. It is an important part of history that should never be forgotten.

My Lai private tour - We visited the My Lai site with Mr Ken as our guide. Andy, the tour owner was firstly wonderful to deal with. The trip out to My Lai was very comfortable on the mini bus and took about 2.5 hours. The site is sad and confronting but was worth the trip to understand what happened during this very tragic event. Mr Ken was wondering and very knowledgeable and his English was great. We took our 2 kids aged 12 and 15.
