- village undergound: Is a tunnel complex in Quang Tri, Vietnam. During the Vietnam War it was strategically located on the border of North Vietnam and South Vietnam. The tunnels were built to shelter people from the intense bombing of Son Trung and Son Ha communes in Vinh Linh county of Quang Tri Province in the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone. It was constructed in several stages beginning in 1966 and used until early 1972.

The DMZ in Vietnam was a Demilitarized Zone created as a boundary separating North and South Vietnam following the First Indochina War. Throughout the course of the Vietnam War, the area gained significance as the frontline distinguishing Northern and Southern Vietnamese territories.

From 7:00 to 7:30am, our tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel.
Our journey will lead us to the Vinh Moc Tunnels. Along the route, we’ll stop to see Doc Mieu and the Ben Hai River, including the Hien Luong Bridge.
The guide will provide insights into the Vinh Moc tunnels, renowned for being an underground refuge built to evade bombings during the American War (1965-1966). The complex contains wells, kitchens, designated family spaces, and health facilities.
At noon, we’ll head back to Dong Ha town where you’ll enjoy a meal at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel.
