I was in town for a business event, so my husband and I decided to do this tour. I didn't expect it to be scary, as I'm familiar with historical 'ghost' tours. I've been on several conducted by various organizations. What I was expecting was a fresh take on the local history and and to learn a thing or two about past residents. If I was entertained a bit in the process, that would be a bonus. I was not disappointed!!! Our tour guide, Ted, was awesome!!! He kept us engaged and entertained for the duration of the tour! He was super knowledgeable and his teaching background resulted in a great presentation of the 'stories'! This was no easy feat as we were a fairly large group. Fortunately, Ted's voice also projects well, so no matter where I was in the group, I could hear every word. If only the tour could have lasted longer, I could have listened to tales of scandal and debauchery in olden-day Philly all night!!! While I don't get to Philly very often, I will make it a point to do the Dark Philly Adult Night Tour next time I'm in town!
You should incorporate a stop or two along the way at/near the many bars in this area of Philadelphia. More dark stuff would warrant calling it "dark philly tour" but our guide Lance was fun and informative.
Ted and Sarah were entertaining and knowledgeable. As a history teacher, Ted really knew his Philly history. Tour was two hours, really felt like we got our money worth. No silly costumes or acting, would recommend.
It was a nice tour, Britnee was our tour guide and she knew alot about the area and was pretty funny. Overall it was a good time with plenty of laughs and i would definitely recommend
The tour was awesome and our tour guide (Ted) was very knowledgeable. We learned things that we could not learn anywhere else.
Joe was an incredible tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and interactive. He gave us plenty of history and dark content. I am a nurse so a lot of what was being explained blew my mind. He just connected to our group and was fun. Never loose him as a guide he was great !!!!!
The tour was great. The guide was very engaging and knowledgeable. He kept everyone’s attention focused. The stories were cool but more history than ghosts or grim as the name of the tour suggests. Aside from the free speech (cursing 😂🤟🏻) it was not as adult as I expected. I still would highly recommend it, but perhaps the name may need to be change a bit. Guarantee you’ll get a “special” customer that will complain heavily about that and demand his money back. Oh, and it was the BEST case of syphilis we’ve ever experienced! 😉 😂 Adam rocks!!
Good variety of information and stops along the tour. Tour guide's delivery was awkward at times.
Great guy... great stories...
The tour guide, Ted, was very knowledgable of the area and kept the history lectures interesting and relevant. The tour area showed several of the historic buildings and it was not crowded. I teased Ted saying I thought he would be dressed as a vampire or some other ghoulish character - he laughed.
Ted was a great tour guide!! He was very informative and extremely interesting! He shared a lot of fun facts on the tour and had a great sense of humor! The tour was two hours, and we really enjoyed learning about the history of Philadelphia . I would highly recommend this tour, and if you get Ted as your guide, you won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to come back and try one of the the other Grimm Philly tours.
Wonderful tour, our guide Ted was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun as well as informative. He has a great personality and sense of humor. This was my second tour with Ted, also did serial killer tour, some of the information/stories overlap but both very enjoyable and would highly recommend Grim Philly tours and Ted!!
Britney was excellent both with her knowledge and enthusiasm. She was entertaining and funny. She deserves 6 stars!
Britney was great. Even in biting cold and windchill she didn’t stop and encouraged all of us to go along with her interesting stories.
Overall the tour was ok but britney was awesome.
This was easily one of the COOLEST things I did while visiting in Philadelphia. Brittany was our tour guide and she was AMAZING!!! She made our entire experience 100x better and more hilarious, I feel like if I lived here we would be best friends because she is so awesome. HIGHLY recommend going on the ghost, sex & vampire tour with her for insanely interesting facts and a great time.
Britness was hilarious and extremely knowledgeable. Loved the mixing of lore with Philadelphia's history. 10/10 experience!
Despite the chilly, rainy weather, this tour was engaging and entertaining throughout. Our guide clearly has a wealth of knowledge and passion for history — the salacious aspects or otherwise. I would rate very satisfied were it not for a couple improvements that could be made: first, the tour was billed as a special "vampires, sex and ghosts" tour, yet participants would have the impression that the content was not changed from other Grim Philly tours: the stories were light on ghosts, included only one short mention of a perceived vampire, and were not nearly as "adult" as the description suggested. Aside from the occasional adult language, children would be fine on this tour, which is good unless you signed up for bawdiness. Second, the weather was actually pretty bad, and I feel as thought Grim Philly and our guide could plan alternative places to stand in this case. We were in rain or breezy cold nearly the entire 1.5 hours when within one block from the sites, there would have been awnings or overhangs to have a bit of shelter. By the end, my party was pretty soaked through despite having a raincoat and umbrella. Just a tip for the future when rain and wind strike. Thanks for an awesome evening besides and the history left me feeling like I learned a lot more fascinating facts than what you ever could from reading a few chapters of the typical history book on Philadelphia's past. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Philadelphia.
