- Mdina Main Gate - Baroque gateway - We will walk through this main entrance to the old capital city of Malta which has featured in many movies that have been filmed here.
- Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Paul - We will stop for pictures in front of the mother church of the Maltese Islands dedicated to St Paul.
- St. Paul’s Grotto - We get to stop in front of the Church lying on top of the grotto which is thought to have been the place where St Paul lived in his 3 month stay in Malta

Join us as we embark on a culinary journey, exploring two picturesque towns and immersing in the local culture beyond just food. Guided by a certified professional, we will take a trip through the stunning towns of Mdina and Rabat, sampling some of the most authentic dishes our islands have to offer.
Our journey begins with a stroll through Mdina, experiencing the grandeur of aristocratic palaces while indulging in the popular pastizzi accompanied by the local beverage, Kinnie. As we walk by the Cathedral and take in the views from the bastions, we move on to discover the charming streets of Rabat.
Navigating through the labyrinth of narrow lanes in Rabat, we make our way to the heart of the town. Here, after passing the St Paul’s Church, we learn to make ħobż biz-zejt, all while sampling two local craft beers.
Our gastronomic adventure culminates in a local restaurant, where we relish the crowning glory of Maltese cuisine – rabbit, in addition to other traditional Maltese specialities – all complemented by a glass of local red wine.

We meet across the road from Crystal Palace bar or is-Serkin as it is also known in Rabat. We will wait for you on the benches across the road next to the parking lot, holding a blue Best Tours Malta sign in hand.

Highly recommend this tour! Fantastic snacks and a great guide! - Fantastic food and history tour of Rabat and Mdina with Edwin! Learned a lot about history and had many delicious snacks (pastizzi, halva, Maltese coffee, a smorgasbord of bar snacks and a rabbit and beef dinner) in numerous interesting locations - including a soccer club, a band club and a nifty little grocery in Rabat.
Terrific tour, lovely way to spend an afternoon/evening, highly recommend!

Wonderful Experience - This was a wonderful experience. Loved the history our guide provided as well as food arranged for us at each of our stops. You will not go away hungry. Each food stop had tasty foods, freshly prepared and served by hospitable Maltese. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. Great experience. Well worth it!

Awesome tour— learned and ate a lot - Highly recommend!!! Chris is a local and you can tell that he knows his stuff about the rich history of Mdina and Rabat as well as Malta as a whole. He is friendly, funny, and engaging, and of course the food was amazing too! My family had a great time on the tour.

Great morning and we are still full!! - Really really lovely morning spent with Chris and fellow foodies. A wonderful combination of history ( of the Mdina and Rabat / Malta as well as the food) and food stops for sampling food and drinks . Go hungry. Chris is local and knowledgeable and enthusiastic and funny. He chooses lovely local quirky places to eat. Recommend

Highly recommend - This tour was everything Malta, Christian is very knowledgeable about Mdina and Rabat. The tour had the perfect balance of history and food, I did not feel overwhelmed by historic dates or facts. He kept it very informative but also fun! Christian is known by most locals and do not shy away from saying hi. I won’t ruin the surprises but the food is delicious and a great experience. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a food tour with history. I wish I had more cash to tip him for a fantastic tour.

A memorable evening of local food, drink and culture! - We had a great experience, starting with the excellent communications with Chris before we arrived and then the time spent in the company of a local expert! The time together was most enjoyable and the inside knowledge gained very insightful. The tour was as described, only better, as there were plenty of added extras. The food and drink provided featured quality local ingredients expertly prepared. There was plenty of variety of food/drink offered and it all tasted great! We parted company feeling like we had made a new friend who had truly gone out of his way to give us a very special evening! If you are looking for a behind the scenes look and a taste of local Maltese cuisine this is the tour for you. Strongly recommend!

Food, GOT and much more!!! - We visited Mdina and Rabat in late December with Christian. He did a great job guiding us into Kings Landing (Mdina) and explaining the history of the city. We then had a nice tour of Rabat, stopping to try some local snacks. The Dominican Church and nativity scene stops were enjoyable as well. We ended at a local restaurant sampling generous amounts of local fare, escargots, rabbit, quails and more. Great afternoon and evening!

Great tour + lots of yummies - Chris provided the perfect tour of Mdina and Rabat - a great mix of history, the usual tourist sites, places that only locals know, and of course, great food (and lots of it). Go hungry because you will be well fed.

Great blend of history and (so much!) food - Julia was a terrific guide, with warmth and personality, who clearly had a real knowledge of and passion for Mdina and Rabat. The tour was a fantastic way to get to know these two intriguing towns, explore the beautiful winding streets and not get lost, and tap into some culture outside Valletta. There was a wonderful and very plentiful range of food and venues on offer, and I enjoyed feeling a sense of connection with the proprietors and their love for the food. Definitely recommend!
