Day 01: Casablanca – Rabat - Chefchaouen bleu city
Rabat - In Rabat, you will visit Chellah, the Ouddayas Kasbah which contains the Oudayas Palace that today houses the national museum, and the peaceful Andalusian gardens that surround it. You will also visit Mohamed V Mausoleum which contains the tombs of the former Moroccan king and his two sons. In addition, explore The Hassan Tower, a minaret of an incomplete mosque, the tower and the mosque were intended to be the biggest in the world and now it is a famous emblem of Rabat and under UNESCO World Heritage. Day 02: Free Day to Explore Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen - Take advantage of your free day today to explore the charming blue town at your own pace. Wander through the winding streets of the medina and uncover its rich history and hidden treasures. Don’t miss out on the unique shopping opportunities, with local artists and artisans creating one-of-a-kind pieces exclusive to this town. As night falls, soak up the lively atmosphere in the town square and indulge in some delicious food from one of the many great restaurants. Rest easy knowing you’ll be staying at the same comfortable accommodation with a delicious breakfast included.
Day 03: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Conservation du site Archéologique de volubilis - Next, we visit the Roman Ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to 225 BC. The extensive excavations include columns, mosaics, a grand gateway, and many streets and houses, providing a fascinating glimpse into the life and history of the Romans in this region. After that, we head to the imperial city of Meknes, founded in the 11th century as a military settlement and later becoming a capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 17th century. The city boasts impressive Hispano-Moorish architecture, including the intricate mosaic gate of Bab Mansour, the ramparts, the granary, and the Sahrij Swani Basin used for irrigation and plantation.
Fes - Finally, we continue to the spiritual capital of Fes, where we will spend the night in a beautiful riad located in the heart of the medina.
Day 04: Exploring Fes
Fes - you’ll visit a pottery cooperative to witness the intricate work involved in producing some of Morocco’s finest pieces. After taking in the incredible panoramic views of the medina, you’ll enjoy a delicious Fes-style lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the cultural and spiritual sites and monuments in the medina, including the famous Tanneries and the narrow souks full of food and crafts. With a knowledgeable local guide, you’ll learn about Fes’s ancient history, including the world’s oldest still-operating university, the Quaraouiyine, founded in 859 by a woman named Fatima. Your day will end with an overnight stay in the same riad.
Day 05: Fes – Ifrane – Merzouga – Camel trekking & night in the desert
Ifrane - Our first stop is Ifrane, also known as “the little Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine architecture. We then enter the Middle Atlas Mountains and explore the great cedar forest, where you may spot the indigenous Barbary monkeys swinging in the trees.
Erfoud - We drive through Berber towns and villages from Erfoud to Rissani, which was once the capital called Sijilmassa and the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty, the current ruling royal family in Morocco.
Day 06: Sahara Desert – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Todra River - We will then drive to the Todra Gorge, a magnificent place where you can experience standing between the towering rocks that are over 300 meters in height. The river’s crystalline water flows throughout the year, and the high walls are a paradise for rock climbers and trekkers. Our day will end in the Dades Valley, where you will enjoy dinner and accommodation in a comfortable hotel.
Day 07: Dades Valley – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Marrakech
Ouarzazate - we will drive through Skoura’s palm groves to Ouarzazate, where we will visit the Studios that have produced many famous films.
Ait Ben Haddou - ur next destination is Ait Ben Haddou’s Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular filming location for movies and TV shows. We will then drive through the Tizi N’Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains
Tizi n Tichka - We will then drive through the Tizi N’Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch and photo opportunities along the way.
