Wonderful! - Our trip was more than my family and I imagined. Our driver/guide, Balazs was wonderful. Very informative and detailed. The city itself was just as the photos posted. Very storybook feel. We were nervous about not knowing any of the language, many of the businesses we encountered spoke enough English to get by. I highly recommend this trip it was a full 12+ hours, but well worth it.

Lovely Cesky Krumlov! - Such a long way to CK from Vienna and this is a very comfortable trip with pick up from our stay. Peter was very nice and responsible. A great start of our anniversary trip!

Perfection - A memorable day from start to finish. Hotel pick up exactly on time, amazing driver and guide, Balazs, who I felt completely safe with his driving as well as being super knowledgeable about everything! Cesky Krumlov was the most picturesque place with just enough time for our guided tour as well as plenty of free time. Highly recommend this tour 🥰

Cesky Krumlov is magical! - We loved our day trip to Cesky Krumlov!
Our group of 4 booked our trip with Alligator Tours. Every aspect of the trip was fantasic. Balazs kept us up to date on the number of travelers and the booking details before we left Vienna. We were picked up punctually and lucky to be the only passengers in the clean and comfortable van. We stopped in the quaint town of Weitra for a walk through the town and up to the castle for a view of the area. The journey didn't seem very long because there was so much nice scenery to look at and Balazs told us facts about the area we were driving through. Once in Cesky Krumlov we met our next guide, Vladmira (cool name!) who gave us an excellent tour of the majestic city from a local's perspective. She knows so much about the history and architecture of the castle, gardens and city, and pointed out things to do and places to eat. After the tour, two hours of free time was just the right amount of time to look around all the shops and walk along the river before heading back to meet Balazs for the ride home.
It was an unforgettable day and I would highly recommend the trip!

Great day trip! - My family and I took a day trip from Vienna to Cesky Krumlov and enjoyed it immensely! We were picked up at our Airbnb in Vienna by Peter of White Alligator Tours (arranged through Viator) promptly at the appointed time. The van was clean and comfortable, and Peter provided a running dialog of interesting information about Vienna and the surrounding area as we travelled to Cesky Krumlov. Once we arrived Vladamira, a local guide, showed us around the city and castle, making sure we knew were everything was. After that we had time to explore the city center on our own, during which we had an excellent lunch at a local restaurant, did some shopping, and further explored the castle. On the return trip Peter took a different route back to Vienna, allowing us to see new scenery. We were very pleased both with Cesky Krumlov and our guides, and highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys Medieval towns and castles.

Incredible Day Trip - We just returned from a trip to Vienna. I had heard about Cesky Krumlov and wanted to do a day trip there. The choice was to take a train which takes (I believe) about 4 1/2 hours since there is no direct line; drive, which would entail getting a rental car and driving about 2 1/2 hours, but we'd have no idea what we were seeing, or signing up for a day tour. I only found one tour from Vienna. It was with White Alligator and there were no prior reviews. Normally, I'd probably pass on that, but I looked up other tours by White Alligator and they were overwhelmingly positive so I figured we'd go with it.
The company is run by two brothers, Balazs and Peter, both of whom I talked to on the phone when arranging the tour. Both spoke excellent english which is obviously a huge plus in a tour guide.
Our guide was Balazs. It was just me, my wife and daughter. He picked us up in a van right on time at 7:00 at our hotel in Vienna. On the way there we stopped at a town called Weitra which had a castle and a really nice little town square. Then we drove up to Cesky Krumlov. Along the way, Balazs explained some of the history and answered a LOT of questions. He said that he was raised in Hungary and had been a freelance journalist for several years. I felt a bit sorry for him as I really love history. He was trying to tell us what we were seeing and I couldn't help but to keep asking him his opinions on current events around the world. I think it made him a bit uncomfortable at first because those subjects can be a little touchy, but living in Arizona, how often am I going to meet someone with his perspective on things? I really enjoyed hearing his views as well as what he had to say about the actual tour (that is when I wasn't constantly going off on a tangent).
When we got to Cesky Krumlov we were met by Vladimira who was their local tour guide that they arrange to take us around. She said that she lived nearby and she did an excellent job telling us about the history and buildings around the town. For the town itself, I don't really have words to describe it. Around every corner is another breathtaking photo opportunity. The best description I can give is that it looks like a set in a Disney movie. Vladimira also showed us some good places to eat and where to buy Moldavite jewelry. Moldavite is a semi-precious gem created by a meteor impact nearby millions of years ago. She also got us a %30 discount on a Moldavite ring that I bought my daughter. After about 2 1/2 hours with Vladimira, we got to walk around the town on our own for about 2 hours. Nothing on the tour was rushed and it ended up being a perfect amount of time for a day trip. Although I could have stayed there for several days. There were several 4 and 5 star hotels. We met back up with Balazs and got back to Vienna at about 7:30 pm.
Overall, I can't recommend this tour highly enough. If you only do one day trip from Vienna this should be it.
