Wonderful trekking in Langtang - Beautiful experience in the Nepalese mountains. We reached the summit of Kianjin Ri (5000 m) and visited beautiful villages. A huge thank you to our guide, Krishna, who assisted us in every way but above all proved to be an extra friend.

Gosainkunda/Langtang Trekking with Raam - My guide Raam and I did 10 day Langtang Valley trek with Gosainkunda peak and through the Lauribina Pass at 4,610m. The first and last few days trekking were challenging and as weather in the shoulder season (early September) wasn't ideal. But without it the trek wouldn't have been as green throughout. For the good weather days we had it was stunning to see across the kunda (lakes) into the ranges. Learn about the significance of the kunda to Hindu culture. The HSJ team fully prepared and briefed me on the trip making sure I had everything needed. The last few days of the trek were through mountain farming villages which were lush and green. Bring a raincoat and camera, and Raam will sort the rest!

Langtang Valley Trekking - 11 Day. Excellent! - I ended up booking HSJ's 11 day Langtang Valley Trek by emailing directly with Himalayan Social Journey. Junu and Usha were always extremely prompt with their email responses and always answered any questions I had - from equipment to bring, to accommodations on the trail, and flight information. We went with Himalayan Social Journey because of the number of positive reviews and the agreeable pricing. Our experience over our 11 day trek showed we made a correct decision. After landing at KTM airport, we were greeted outside by person holding a sign with our name on it. After a 10 minute drive, we were checked into Himalayan Suite Hotel. The next day, as part of our trek plan, we were given a tour of various sights around Kathmandu by "Dip" who provided great information about the various locations. That evening we had dinner with our guide, Mingmar Sherpa. Mingmar would turn out to be a fantastic guide and friend for our trek. The drive from Kathmandu to Syapru Besi takes about 5-6 hours (with a lunch stop) and HSJ had arranged a shared jeep for us. Even if you do not get motion sickness easily, I recommend Dramamine as a portion of the drive is on rocky "roads." The trek through the valley was absolutely gorgeous. Mingmar and our porter Madav were simply fantastic and had a great repour with my wife and I. Mingmar was the quintessential professional guide, always providing great information about local area and checking to make sure we had what we needed. For an April trek, temperatures ranged from warm during the day (70s F) at lower altitudes to cold at night at the higher altitudes (25 F) - pack in layers! HSJ provided us sleeping bags that were great at the higher altitudes. Breakfast is included during the trek but HSJ provided the option to prepay lunch and dinner which we did. This avoided having to carry much extra cash during the trek, although you can still purchase extra items if needed. All meals were quite filling and usually consisted of noodle or rice dishes (Dal Bhat). Most days we generally started around 630/700AM. With various rest/photo breaks and lunch, we generally were done by around 2-3PM. Mingmar and Madav taught us a few card games and we enjoyed just hanging out with them in the evenings talking or playing games. The culmination of our trek was the climb up the 4600m Kyanjin Ri. Mingmar's expertise was on full display as he lead us up (and eventually down!), finding the right paths and setting a doable pace. It was definitely a challenge but the views from the top were just spectacular. In all aspects, we had such am absolutely fantastic time. Himalayan Social Journey made setting up our trek a painless experience and our fantastic guide Mingmar made the whole journey enjoyable. We will definitely consider HSJ in the future and would specifically request Mingmar as our guide.

Slightly challenging for beginners but worth it - Just completed the 6-day trek and it was a wonderful experience! I was planning to do the trek in december but was worried about the weather however HSJ recommended me to go ahead as it is off season during the start of december with great weather and few tourists. They were right! It was indeed a great time to do the trek as i got to fully immerse myself in the mountains and enjoy the clear 10/10 views without worry. By no means was this an easy trek for me due to the steep and long ascends however i was accompanied by one of the best guides/porter and new nepalese brother Mingmar Sherpa who took very good care of me and paced the trek according to my abilities. Thank you HSJ for organising this program and i highly recommend this trek to all if you are up for some insanely majestic views that one could only dream of :)

A challenging trek but well worth it - Trekked the Langtang Valley and Gosaikund-Kathmandu trail. Won't lie - it was a challenging trek with very steep and very long ascents and descents. But the views were awesome and sense of accomplishment valuable. Facilities were basic but that's to be expected and part of the experience - this is not glamping! Our guide Bishnu and porter PK couldn't do enough for us - was well looked after and they both made sure we had as best a time as possible. HSJ was well organised - was supposed to trek Manaslu but landslides closed this trail the day before I was to leave and HSJ swung into option mode and within hours had the trek through Langtang and Gosaikund prepared. Great trek, excellent company!

Langtang Valley/GosainKunda Trek - Third time I have booked a trekking tour through Himalayan Social Journey. Originally booked to do 19-Day Manaslu Circuit, however, on arrival was advised that the circuit was closed due to avalanches/landslides. HSJ quickly organised a 16-day trek along the Langtang Valley/Gosainkunda/Helambu tracks. Kudos to HSJ for organising such a beautiful and challenging alternative, at the last minute, without a hitch. Special mention to our guide, Bishnu, who came out of retirement, to lead our group and to our single porter PK who carried gear for three. Can thoroughly recommend HSJ for putting on a great, hassle free tour (once again).

Langtang Valley Trekking 2021 - I have lived in Kathmandu for two years and this was my first trek. I was very happy to have found this company who paired us with our wonderful guide Shankar Timalsina. Shankar did a great job of taking all of the stress out of the trip. All the tea houses he took us to were lovely and all the hosts were lovely and accommodating. We were even spoiled with hot showers almost every day. Shankar also was great at pacing the trek and making sure we were always on a safe path taking shortcuts and alternate routes when necessary. He definitely knows his way around Langtang. As for the staff who arranged our trip, they were very professional and answered all of our questions. We were in and out very fast. They also allowed us to tailor the trek to our request to visit Sherpagaun within the given timeframe requested. All in all a great company and will definitely do business with them in the future if I plan other trips. Highly recommended!

Awesome experience with HSJ while Trekking to Langtang - I traveled to Nepal in August of 2018. During this visit, I wanted to trek to Langtang valley, so I searched for possible trek operators which led me to visit the Himalayan Social Journey (HSJ) office. I met with Mr. Amrit Sapkota, who gave me brief information and guidelines about my trek and possible cost. HSJ really had a friendly customer service with detailed guidance to their visitors. So, I chose a package from HSJ, then we started our trek towards Langtang after a week. HSJ had affiliation with most of the hotels nearby the region so it was really easy on moving with our journey and everything was well planned and prepared. I would definitely recommend all the travel enthusiast to choose Himalayan Social Journey if you are planning to visit Nepal. I will probably be visiting Nepal in 2020 and this time I am planning to go to Annapurna Base Camp, because of the deals that HSJ has provided me for my next trip. Cheers!!

Langtang Valley Trek - This is the 3 rd time I have booked my trekking tour through Himalayan Social Journey. In my opinion they are excellent at what they do. From first point of contact enquiring about a trek to picking you up from the airport, knowledgeable tour guides and a final wave off going back to airport. The company really do ensure you have a holiday to remember and will tailor your trek needs to the best of their ability. In the past I have trekked EBC, ABC . This time I decided to walk Langtang valley so I could see the spectacular Rhododendrons. All treks are well prepared and challenging. From our porters to our trek leader TIKARAM.. all went well. Tikaram is extremely knowledgeable with local wildlife, plants, and medical aid if and when needed. A must to try and eat Momo’s, Dal bhat, Tibetian bread with honey , garlic soup ( delicious) and a ginger, lemon and honey tea to warm you up! I am already looking forward to organising my next trip when I want to walk Mustang region. I recommend HSJ 100 % and I look forward to my next trip.!

The Langtang Valley trek was well worth the effort - The organisation of the trek was up to the normal standard the Himalayan Social Journey offers. The initial pickup from the airport to the accommodation in Thamel was well coordinated. The cultural night is a must do event, the briefing by the guide of the trek was adequate. The bus ride to the start of the trek was as exciting as the trek itself, full of twists and turns to say the least. Lodge accommodation and food was as we've experienced in the past all good and suitable given the remote location of the villages along the track. The guide and porters were fantastic, always ready to help us poor/slow trekkers anytime. Sufficient warm blankets and/or sleeping bags is something that requires greater consideration. Some of our trekking group found the very cold nights uncomfortable due to the lack of blankets or poor quality sleeping bags. We come from a hot climate so the cold is harder for us to acclimatise to. The length of the trek we undertook was greater in distance than the days available to reach our final destination. A review on distance and altitude is required, I don't believe any trek in Nepal can be considered easy unless is thoroughly reviewed in its daily distance, gradient and altitude gains each day and adjustered accordingly. A more detailed item of information is required to ensure all trekkers understand the levels of difficuly on a trek in Nepal. I.e. moderate, hard to very hard. Otherwise the trek was scenic and beautiful as always in Nepal. Thank you HSJ for another wonderful experience.
