Hike Description:
Embark on a guided 9.5km - 10.5km (5hrs) hike at Metcalfe Rock and through the Duncan Escarpment Provincial Nature Reserve. The journey begins near the Metcalfe Crevice, where you will explore the caves. Ascend to the top of Metcalfe Rock, enjoying several scenic lookout points over the Kolapore Creek Valley.
Your guide will lead you through a mature forest featuring ancient white cedars, apple trees, and several deep crevices, before reaching a stunning waterfall just over halfway through the hike. Take a well-deserved break and enjoy lunch by the waterfall before heading back to the starting point.
What to bring:
Water, snacks, and appropriate clothing based on the weather forecast. Closed-toe shoes are required, with hiking boots/shoes or running shoes preferred.
Apres Hike:
After a fulfilling day of hiking, consider visiting The Roost Winery and Vineyard, located just 2.5km from the start/finish location. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy cold-climate wines in a breathtaking setting.

What sets this tour apart is that your guide will tailor the experience to match your interests.
All guests will enjoy the same journey through the Metcalfe crevice, Duncan Caves, and a pause at the waterfall. However, your guide will collaborate with you to customize the loop to the falls and back, allowing you to “choose your own adventure” on the return trip. There are three different route options, ranging from 8.5km to 10.5km (5 hours). Some routes offer more stunning lookouts, while others provide more opportunities for cave and crevice exploration.
