Very nice day! Kids loved the trip - Good daytrip for families. Very good organised incl. transfers, food, guides, boat and route. Pickup and return was on time. We had a small breakfast, very good lunch + snacks and drinks of very good quality. Very nice guides and boatcrew. Everything in good condition. We got fish! Small ones but that was ok. Maybe if you are only interested in fishing big fish there might be other options. We enjoyed our day a lot. Thank you!

Boat ride w/ minimal “fishing” - Not great if you want to do some serious fishing. Racha boat trip with a little bit of fishing. 90% of the time fishing is just trolling while commuting to and from the island. I was baffled we caught anything. The lures they were using were just really big fly rod flies. The equipment is old with some reels being kept alive with tape and prayers. You pull numbers to see who reels in first. I was only able to reel in one. And they make you sit in the fighting chair for a 2kg skipjack it’s really silly. When we got to racha island they wanted us to swim and wait for them to cook. So while they were cooking I was fishing on my own and once they saw me they were yelling at me even though everyone was done swimming. Being told not to fish while on a fishing trip is crazy. When we did finally stop and fish they made us all fish off the same side of the boat. 🤦‍♂️ they had us using cut bait and a really heavy weight for bottom fishing but instead they kept telling us to reel in constantly and to move the rod up and down as if we were jigging but not using a jig. But this boat had more than enough rods for everyone so I’m glad I didn’t have to hand line fish and the boat was not a long tail boat so that was a pleasant surprise.

Average, wouldn't recommend - Not great. Fishing was so-so, didnt get to touch a rod the entire time. Started with trawling then proceeded to do drop lines with a spool instead of a rod. Crew was distant and just did their job (which is fair) but didn't interact with the people on the boat much. Seeing as how we didn't manage to catch many fish I thought they would make the effort to chit chat and entertain us a bit- point out maybe some islands/ introduce us to some local things that we passed etc. But the crew kept to themselves and we just sat in the boat in silence for almost 7 hours.

Bad Management & Unfriendly Guide - The unpleasant experience started even at the booking stage. Upon booking, all dates are available to book, however I was then communicated that the tour only operates three days a week, so I had to reschedule my other tour plans. [They communicated that only after I sent an email to confirm my booking and it’s not them communicating to me about it first.] The tour itinerary was okay and we did catch some fish. However, the guide is really unfriendly and her face, the whole time, looks like she doesn’t even want to be here. The other thing is there’s no fishing rod assigned to each person. There’re only like four rods on the boat and the whole group has to take turns pulling the rod according to the number randomly assigned to each person. And guess what, that guide keeps missing up numbers and I had the chance to pull the fishing rod ONLY ONE TIME for the whole trip. That’s ridiculous. The horror doesn’t end even after we arrived back to the pier. The minivans that’s supposed to take us back to our hotels weren’t there. We had to wait for around half an hour for the vans to arrive! I mean what kind of management would let that happen. Overall, this is definitely one of the bad, if not the worst, tours that I’ve ever experienced in Thailand.

Don’t Waste Your Money - Unless you have never been fishing before, don’t waste your time and money. Let’s start with the crew! Captain was Thai and deckhad was from Myanmar and neither could speak a word of English as promised in the itinerary. Normally this would not be a problem as my wife is local however the captain would not come out of the wheelhouse unless it was to fish for his own dinner leaving the deckhand who could speak neither Thai or English. Unfortunately they also had no interest in sorting out the numerous tangles that occurred due to ten people bottom fishing at the same time leaving myself as an experienced fisherman doing their job for them. Next is the equipment!! Old, antiquated and broken is the best way to describe it. The rod I was given had 3 broken eyelets and many others had broken reels that failed when trying to retrieve the terminal tackle from 50 metres. Lucky there were no larger fish caught. When I pointed out the damaged equipment my wife was told by the captain that we should have spent more money on an expensive tour which, considering they changed 2800 Baht per person with 10 people on board makes it a 28000 Baht trip is much more than a private fishing trip. Finally the game fishing!! Well if that’s what you want to call it. I would call it catching bait and not much of it. They advertise with photos of sailfish which are obviously taken from another site. The lures that were trawled behind the boat were only a couple of centimetres long, similar to a samaki bait jig so there was never any chance of raising a sailfish , but I guess it would have been possible for a sail to come up on one of the few 25cm queen fish that were hooked. Imagine my surprise when the deck hand insisted on the customers reel in a 25cm fish in the game chair, what a joke. Funnily the largest fish of the day was a dead cod that had died and floated to the surface because of barotrauma which the crew promptly gaffed to take home and feed the family. Everything else that was caught is what I would refer to as bait.
