More the wine!!! - The Wellington half day wine tour was a very enjoyable and informational experience. This was due to our phenomenal tour guide Simon! His knowledge of the wines produced in this region of New Zealand and the history of the people who inhabit it were very educational. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to do more than just sip wine! Thank you Simon for a most memorable time. CHEERS!!!

Great way to taste the Wairarapa Valley! - I decided to book this very last minute the day before and couldn’t have been more pleased with that choice. It was such a wonderful experience and I credit our driver Simon for really building a great connection for our group to this place and making us feel welcomed. The wines themselves were great! I enjoyed the whites at Poppies (though their Pinot Noir was nice); reds at Moy Hall; and the rose at Palliser. The lunch at Moy Hall was a highlight for me, and absolutely enjoyed the gnocchi there. I appreciate Simon for stopping at Cʻest Cheese too for the chance to pick up some delectible snacks for the hotel. Great experience, highly recommend!

A Great Wine Experience & More - An excellent way to spend a half day trip out of Wellington city. Our first visit was at Moy Hall, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch (at our expense) along with a tasting of 4 of their wines. This was a relaxed & easy going start to the trip. Our second venue was The Runholder, where their host took us through a selection of 4 of their wines, as well as a sampling of their gin. This was a more face-to-face experience, where we were able to engage with the hostess & understand more about the produce. Our final tasting was at the Palliser Estate, where we had a more relaxed, hosted session & sampled 5 of their wines. All of the wines were very good, though some more suited to an individual palate. The venues were all excellent, in beautiful surroundings. The hosting staff were friendly & knowledgeable, never pushy in promoting their wine which was good. Finally, a mention for our guide & driver Simon who did a great job. Our pick-up was easy & on time, he made sure we were introduced to our fellow travellers (6 in total) & was happy to engage in discussing the origins & challenges of wine making in New Zealand, as well as more general enquiries. In summary, a fabulous trip, no shortage of very good wine & an opportunity to some magnificent scenery beyond Wellington.

Great wine & scenic tour - Mia was fantastic organising extra tickets for the tour and could not of been more helpful. Mike was great - cracked a few kiwi Aussie jokes that set the scene for day. The wineries were really great, lovely settings and scenery and best of all superb wines - cannot fault tour!

A great experience - A great wine tour. Very knowledgeable guide who was friendly and good fun. We had tastings at three vineyards and one included gin tasting. The lunch (not included in the price) was delicious and in fabulous surroundings overlooking a vineyard. I left my glasses on the bus and they were returned to me the next day. The operator went out of their way to accommodate us. Highly recommended.

A great way to spend a day, particularly when it's raining. - It was a very enjoyable day and Simon was a great host. The tour ran smoothly from pick up to return and all the communications were clear and concise. There was a great group of people on the tour. The wines tasted across the three wineries provided a good introduction to what the district had to offer. The highlight was the wine host at Palliser (the last winery we visited) who really pulled the whole day together and he provided some broader education on the NZ wine industry as well. The wines there were great and he spoke to them well. It was a shame the other wineries didn't provide the same experience. I feel it would have been better to have wine tasted at the second winery before lunch and then to have had the option to purchase a glass or two at lunch if you wanted to, as I felt the tasting expeience got a little lost there and it looked like the wine host had more to offer there. In the first winery the host seemed new to the winery so it was difficult to get a feeel for ther wines and their history. Nevertheless, overall it was a great way to spend a day and the above comments are more suggestions to lift the experience than negatives.
