Surreal experience - Beautiful place perfect for those traveling with children. Easily accessible, you can find parking, umbrella and deckchairs even at busy times. Well-served beaches rich in fresh vegetation under which to find refreshment. Mandatory to rent the very cheap pedal boats for a swim with turtles. As for the whole island, prices are modest and affordable for family travelers.

Great bus tour with many interesting stops - Great bus tour with Yannis and Kostas who gave us lots of information about the places we visited and life on Crete. At each stop there was enough time for sightseeing etc.
Highly recommended.

Amazing day out - we booked onto this day trip for 10th June. we had such a lovely time and liked that there were multiple stops along the tour and were given the freedom to explore and do as we pleased within that time! i picked up some items at the avocado beauty shop and we rented a pedal boat at Lake Kournas and saw some turtles and goldfish. very memorable day and lovely way to end our holiday!

Gifted guide and alright olives - On setting off on our holiday to Crete, one of our absolute musts was becoming more familiar with the local olive-scene, a massive part of Cretan culture. Initially our hotel said that no such excursion existed, but on flicking through some leaflets we found a tour to an olive mill run by Markidis. The tour also happened to include stops at Lake Kornos and the fresh water springs of Argyroupolis.
First up on the tour was the springs. These were fairly unremarkable. Although fascinating, and located near some nice tavernas, the springs felt somehow artificial and very different to the photos advertised. A stop at the local village (and former city) of Argyroupolis was very nice, and revealed exceptional views and a chance to taste hand-made avocado juice from fruit picked in the village itself.
Next was a stop at Lake Kornos. The lake is breathtaking. The water was clear, lovely to swim in and teeming with wildlife. We took a pedalo out to the other side of the lake and - after some searching - managed to see a few turtles and quite large fish.
Finally, the trip to the olive mill was informative but quite brief, and at times the guide of the mill (employed by the mill itself) felt rather hostile in his answers.
However, throughout the entirety of the trip our guide Yanis kept us thoroughly informed and entertained. He was stellar; full of local knowledge and constantly friendly and engaging. It was because of his quality as a guide that we went on another excursion with Markidis, which we also loved.

Much longer than advertised - The guide and the driver were great.
This trip is much longer duration than advertised. My family and I anticipated being away from around 10:00 till 15:00, since trips is advertised as 4.5 hours. We were among the first to be dropped of by the bus and we were back at 18:30. We spend an hour at each of the two first stops and around 2.5 hours at the lake and about an hour at the olive oil factory. Also the itinerary does not clearly state that this is a four stop trip.
The first stop at the "waterfalls" is boring. You are only there to see a small church and spend money at cafes.
The second stop at the avocado village was OK. Nice people, nice views, nice shops.
The third stop of 2.5 hours at the lake was grueling in the midday sun. We hunkered down at a cafe after bathing in the lake for half an hour.
Last stop at the olive oil factory was great. Interesting to see the production facilities, even as it was shut down, the tasting and shopping was great, and they have the nicest German shepherd that just surrenders to being petted by each bus-load of tourist.
Just before leaving the factory, our guide treated us to a tune on a native Greek/Cretean instrument, which was an amazing and very personal thing to experience.
