Well worth it. Be sure to communicate clearly to avoid issues. - This was awesome. Highly recommended way to get a sense of Iceland's geography and see some amazing sights. Our pilot was great, and Iceland did its thing and was spectacular.
Some tips:
* Dress warm: Cold up on the glacier especially if the wind is up at all.
* Not "private": You have to pay more for a "private" flight. We knew this and didn't care but the other party booked on the tour thought they had booked a private trip and were a bit miffed.
* Swap seats: This tour lands a couple times, which, in addition to being great, gives you a chance to change up the seating. The two seats in the front have a better view so be upfront and fair about swapping seats for each segment.
* You have a say: Turns out that the "Fire" part of "Fire and Ice" does not mean volcano. I wasn't paying attention when booking and thought it did. In the end, our tour-mates were also more interested in volcanoes/lava than geothermal, so we voted, and the pilot took us wherever we wanted. Not sure what the geothermal area is like, but we really enjoyed the lava fields.

Mind-blowing unforgettable experience - It was my favorite tour in Iceland. You can see so much in a short period of the time, and we were separated from the crowds, I was able to connect to nature during our stops. Our stops were unique and curated. It was personal and private.
You can’t do that during your standard bus tour, you will have a tone of people running around. Sure, you can have a little more serenity to yourself when you renting a car and driving, but won’t get those mind-blowing bird-eye views.
It is all about experience and connection to the divine, I highly recommend this tour to be #1 on your activities list when you come to Iceland.

Glacier Mountain proposal - The most surreal amazing experience! My partner proposed to me at the top of glacier mountain, i was so shocked and the flight crew made it so special with champagne and drone video capturing the whole thing! The most special moment of our lives we will never forget!!

Fire and ice by helicopter - A fantastic experience. The flight, the landings on the glacier and in the volcanic area. Incredibly beautiful. Our pilot flew very gently and told us a lot about the area. The tour is definitely worth the money. We are grateful for this great experience.

Amazing tour that you won't regret - After having another helicopter tour company cancel my tour last minute, Glacier Heli worked extremely hard to secure a flight for me with their company. I then signed up with Glacier Heli to spend 20 minutes flying over an eruption site. Due to not having enough passengers, and a few other bumps, I was offered an upgrade to a 2-hour fire and ice flight. The pilot and team were absolutely amazing and even went as far as personally picking me up and dropping me off at my accomodations. The team was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, their customer service in handling my more unique situation was absolutely amazing. The ride itself was breathtaking. The pilot was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was an amazing experience that will never be forgotten and I wouldn't hesitate to book with Glacier Heli again.

Ride of the Lifetime! - I took the 'Fire and Ice' Helicopter Ride on February 10th as a Solo rider. I selected this option as I wanted to cover ride to a Glacier and also a Volcanic eruption site on the short 3 days trip to Iceland.
I'm so glad that I took this decision.
I had a ride of the lifetime to say the least. Flying over the Þórisjökull Glacier on a bright sunny day was a sheer joy and the landing there for 15 minutes was one of the best feeling I've ever had. I experienced view of one of the purest snow in -10 degrees and took some of the best pictures and videos ever in bright sunlight.
Our pilot was a Norwegian guy, extremely friendly and informed. He shared lots of interesting trivia about the places we flow over.
We also had a landing on a 2021 Volcanic Eruption site (Wish I could see the Feb 2024 site but it was prohibited). This was also quite an experience and I could collect some Lava rocks.
Overall, I would highly recommend this ride to anyone willing to see some of he best sites in Iceland in a really short amount of time.

Out of this world - Worth every penny. Excellent trip from the comfortable welcome with hot drinks and comfortable sofas to meeting our pilot and then of course the flight and landings were out of this world. They changed up the route so we could see the recent eruption site. Plenty of time at each landing. Awesome pilot and experience. Thank you very much. We will forever remember this once in a life time experience.
