Glaciers are melting at alarming speeds. In the South-East of Iceland, there is a very deep lagoon, the deepest lake in Iceland, measuring 284m/932ft. This lagoon has formed due to the melting glacier, Breiðamerkurjökull, which is part of Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe outside of the Arctic regions. We start early from Reykjavik and visit numerous places along the way. During the summer, there is an option to sail on the lagoon. For winter tours, we recommend a 3-day, 2-night itinerary.
