- Thingvellir National Park - Situated on the northern shores of Þingvallavatn (Iceland’s largest lake), Þingvellir (anglicized as ‘Thingvellir’) is a source of national pride and Iceland’s first National Park. It holds significant historical importance as the site where the world’s oldest existing parliament first convened in 930 AD. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Þingvellir is protected for its unique geological and natural features. From the viewing area, visitors can see the Almannagjá canyon, which lies between two tectonic plates, illustrating continental drift.
As the first stop on the tour, visitors will have the chance to explore the park and use the restroom if needed.
- Geysir - A highlight of the Golden Circle, the Geysir Hot Spring Area is known for its boiling mud pits and the dynamic Strokkur, which erupts water 30 meters (100 ft) into the air every few minutes. This area has been active for over 1000 years and includes more than a dozen hot spring holes. Although Geysir itself now only emits steam, its name has become synonymous with spouting hot springs worldwide.
During the tour, the newly opened Geysir Center provides guests with restroom facilities, refreshments, and lunch options.
- Gullfoss Waterfall - One of Iceland’s most beloved attractions, Gullfoss is a stunning waterfall located in the canyon of the Hvítá river in the southwest. The Hvítá river cascades southward in three stages into a narrow canyon, creating a spectacular display of power and beauty. On clear days, visitors can also see the impressive Langjökull glacier, Iceland’s second-largest glacier, in the distance.
Restroom facilities and food and refreshments are available for guests at this location as well.
- Reykjavik Terminal - After returning to Reykjavik from the Golden Circle, there will be a 30-minute break before heading to the Blue Lagoon.
- Sky Lagoon - The newest geothermal lagoon in Iceland is located in the Reykjavik area. Guests can immerse themselves in the warmth of the oceanside geothermal lagoon, with the dramatic North Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. Relax and unwind while enjoying stunning sunsets, moody skies, and, if fortunate, a mesmerizing display of the Northern Lights. Enhance your relaxation with the Skjól Ritual, a unique and enriching experience.
