The Golden Circle

Thingvellir National Park - Meet the guide in the hotel lobby at 08:45.

Embark on the Golden Circle tour, where you’ll encounter some of Iceland’s most famous attractions. Start at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site celebrated for its historical and geological importance.

Geysir - Proceed to the Geysir hot spring area, home to the original geyser and its active neighbor, Strokkur, which erupts impressively every few minutes.

Fridheimar - Continue to Friðheimar, a distinctive geothermal greenhouse showcasing how tomatoes and other plants are cultivated year-round using sustainable energy. Guests can also visit the stables to meet Icelandic horses, famous for their unique gaits.

Gullfoss Waterfall - Then, admire Gullfoss, the magnificent golden waterfall, celebrated for its stunning beauty and powerful cascades.

Vik - Your tour includes accommodation in the Vík area, offering an excellent base for further exploration. If the weather allows, search for the enchanting Northern Lights, adding a magical element to your Icelandic journey.

White Glaciers & Black Sands

Jokulsarlon - Travel east along the southern coast to the remarkable Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the Diamond Beach. The Lagoon formed around 60 years ago with a continuous process of calving and falling icebergs from the glacier tongue Breiðamerkurjökull. These icebergs appear in two shades: milky white and bright blue, a play of light and ice crystals. The Lagoon is teeming with fish that drift in from the sea with the tides. Seals gather in large numbers at the Lagoon’s mouth to catch fish during winter, which is a sight to behold.

Diamond Beach - Nearby, visit the Diamond Beach, famous for its striking black sand adorned with sparkling icebergs that have washed ashore. These icebergs, originating from the glacier lagoon, create a stunning contrast against the dark volcanic sand, making it a favorite spot for photographers and nature lovers. The ever-changing landscape of ice fragments glistening in the sunlight offers a unique and captivating experience.

Skaftafell - On the return to our hotel, we visit Skaftafell, part of Vatnajökull National Park. Skaftafell is a nature enthusiast’s haven known for its breathtaking landscapes. It features a diverse array of natural wonders, including glaciers, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. Highlights include the stunning Svartifoss waterfall, framed by dark basalt columns, and numerous hiking trails that provide spectacular views of the surrounding scenery.

Volcanos, Waterfalls and the Blue Lagoon

Reynisfjara Beach - Today, enjoy a drive along Iceland’s south coast. This coastal road offers views of glacier tongues, waterfalls, rugged hills, black sand beaches, and its renowned volcanoes. Visit the black sand beach at Reynisfjara to observe the geological formations and the crashing waves. Exercise caution as the waves can be dangerous.

Skogafoss - Visit Skógafoss, with a drop of 60 meters (197 feet) and a width of 25 meters (82 feet), it creates a breathtaking display, especially on sunny days when rainbows often appear in the mist. The waterfall is not only a natural marvel but also steeped in local legend, with tales of hidden treasure waiting to be discovered behind its cascading waters.

Seljalandsfoss - Next, visit Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the waterfall, but dress appropriately, as the water mist behind the waterfall can make you wet.

Blue Lagoon - The final highlight before returning to Reykjavik is the spectacular Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is on the National Geographic list of 25 wonders of the world, described as a geothermal gift of nature. Enjoy soaking in the mineral-rich water with its fine silica mud experience (this is an optional extra).

Reykjavik - From the Blue Lagoon, we return to Reykjavik and drop you off at your hotel.
