Námaskarð - At Námaskarð, we will see hissing steam plumes and boiling sulphur- and mudholes.

Dettifoss Waterfall - On our way to Egilsstaðir in the east part of Iceland, we stop by Dettifoss Waterfall, reputed to be the second most powerful waterfall in Europe after the Rhine Falls.

Egilsstadir - Overnight stay in the town of Egilsstaðir.

East Fjords

Hofn - Overnight stay in the town of Höfn í Hornafirði

Vatnajökull & South Shore

Jokulsarlon - We leave Höfn to drive along the southeast coast of Iceland. The first stop is at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. The Lagoon developed around 60 years ago with a continuous process of calving and falling icebergs from the glacier tongue Breiðamerkurjökull. These icebergs come in two shades: milky white and bright blue, an interplay of light and ice crystals. Below the Lagoon, the sparkling shards and orbs of ice wash up on the shore of Breiðamerkursandur, causing it to be called Diamond Beach in English.

Skaftafell - Our tour continues further along the Vatnajökull National Park. We stop at Skaftafell, a beautiful green oasis at the root of the glacier Öræfajökull, where Hvannadalshnúkur, Iceland’s highest peak, is located (2119 m).

Eldhraun Lava Field - After a quick stop there, we drive over the lava fields of Eldhraun and observe the black glacial deposits at Mýrdalssandur outwash plain.

Reynisfjara Beach - We pass by the village of Vík and visit the black sand beach at Reynisfjara, known for its colony of puffins, unusual geological formations and smashing tidal waves. Be careful not to step too close as the waves can be dangerous.

Dyrholaey - From Reynisfjara, you can view the impressive promontory Dyrhólaey where the sea has carved an enormous hole through the rock.

Skogafoss - Skógafoss is a majestic waterfall located on the Skógá River in Iceland, known for its impressive 60-meter drop and constant mist that creates vibrant rainbows on sunny days. Surrounded by lush greenery and steep cliffs, it stands as one of Iceland’s most iconic and photogenic natural landmarks.

Seljalandsfoss - At Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, you can walk behind the waterfall but dress well, as the water mist behind the waterfall can make you wet.

South Shore

Gullfoss Waterfall - Gullfoss, often referred to as the “Golden Falls,” is a breathtaking two-tiered waterfall situated in the canyon of the Hvítá River in Iceland. Renowned for its sheer power and beauty, Gullfoss plunges dramatically into a rugged gorge, creating a mesmerizing spectacle that attracts visitors from around the world.

Geysir - Geysir, located in the Haukadalur Valley of Iceland, is a renowned geothermal area housing the Great Geysir, which sporadically shoots boiling water into the air. The geothermal field is a captivating display of nature’s power, featuring bubbling hot springs and the reliable Strokkur geyser, erupting impressively every few minutes.

Thingvellir National Park - Next, we visit the National Park at Þingvellir, where the North American and European tectonic plates drift apart and create a rift valley. The ancient Icelandic parliament, Alþingi, was established at Þingvellir in 930. Now residing in Reykjavík, it is one of the oldest surviving parliaments in the world. Þingvellir is, consequently, a sacred place for Icelanders.

Wonderful Memories of Iceland! - To Whom It May Concern: Recently we had the opportunity to visit Iceland and we had a wonderful experience. We were fortunate to have Ziggy, a very experienced local driver. We would highly recommend using Snaeland Travel to arrange for drivers for your vacation. We traveled with our 15-year-old granddaughter, and we were impressed with the way Ziggy included her in our discussions. This was an amazing trip and Ziggy’s professionalism, and local knowledge was instrumental in making our vacation fabulous. We felt safe and secure in his care. We enjoyed touring Iceland so much that we have shared our wonderful experience with friends and family to encourage them to explore the wonders of Iceland and get to know its friendly people. Thank you for helping to make this trip a memorable experience for all of us! Ed and Judy Schreck USA

Initially good but very bad in the end. - We are a youth travel and education organisation and we got in touch with Snaeland in order to organise an experience for a High School group from USA. For the process of preparing the Itinerary, Snaeland were very good, helpful and patient. We made our deposit and a few weeks later, but with a lot of notice, seeing the COVID was going to be a problem, we notify Snaeland that we needed to be careful and start talking about possible partial refund of deposit for which they told us that it shouldn't be a problem but that we should wait and see. Surely enough all hell broke loose and our client were forced to cancel the trip scheduled for Early June. We evidently refunded the client in accordance with our conditions. Snaeland on their end didn't back us up and didn't´t refund anything nor did they give us any alternative yet to this day.
