• Hjalparfoss - Our first stop is marking the beginning of the highlands of Iceland. In the shadow of the impressive volcano Hekla lies the beautiful Waterfall Hjálparfoss. The rivers Fossá and Þjórsá fall at a 45° angle to each other into the same lake and form a magical place, which is surrounded by impressive basalt columns. Just downstream from Hjálparfoss you will get a view of Iceland’s second-largest hydroelectric power station, Búrfell.
