Additional Information

Experience a unique Northern lights journey in Reykjavík. Enhance your voyage by engaging in our small group Northern lights tour on a yacht, which stands to be an experience to remember.

Feel at ease in our snug indoor area and help yourself to a beverage from the bar & café on board.

Should the temperature dip, cozy up under a warm blanket provided by us on the tour and delight in a hot beverage. We navigate along the Reykjavik shoreline in pursuit of the Northern Lights, and whenever the Imagine peace light tower is illuminated, we sail near it.

Our seasoned crew members strive tirelessly to spot the northern lights. If we fail to sight, we offer our passengers a free second tour.

We mainly use MY Harpa, a 70 ft motor yacht (max capacity 35 people), for this tour. On special occasions, we utilize MY Amelia Rose, a 108 ft motor yacht (max 95 people). All of our yachts feature comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces, a bar, restrooms etc.

Best day out! - We booked this trip a year in advance and lo and behold the volcano erupted the morning we arrived. I was sent an email with either a different hot spa rather than the blue lagoon as it was dangerous or a change of trip. We continued with the trip and it was well worth it!! We saw Kerio crater which was -20! Watched a geyser which was fab, gullfoss waterfall which was amazing !! Then we spent the end of the day in the hot springs which was amazing!!! 12 hours well spent!

The best northern light trip we have had - The trip was great and can’t fault the boat and crew, unfortunately we didn’t manage to see the lights but we can revisit free for the next 3 years, can’t say fairer than that.

Northern lights - It was a cloudy night so we could really see the northern lights clearly, we could through the clouds. The boat ride out was nice and the company said because we didn't see the light we could book again. We plan to go back out once we find a time to go

Literally ‘a whale of a time’ - We looked at the different tours debating about big ship small ship or the very small speedboat. We chose Harpa because of the boat size. Close enough on the lower deck to be close to the water but a good view from the upper deck. We were not disappointed. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, smooth ride and we saw whales and dolphins. It’s cold out on the sea b6 the boat had a warm cabin and bar to retire too if needed. No captain can guarantee you will see whales but great that the firms work together sharing info on position / type of whale etc. Overall great experience and felt in safe hands.

Not worth the money - Cannot parodic the weather but advertised small boat and was taken out on board a larger boat rammed with drunken people with over expensive bar . Not worth the money in my opinion

A scam - Don't book this cruise. You will pay extra for an intimate experience on a small yacht, blankets provided.....etc. but you are paying for nothing! What this company do is outsource and use the same boat as the larger tours. We knew we were being taken for a ride but even though we asked the guide 3 times she told us we were going on the boat we had booked. Once the boat (with over 100 people on it) has left the harbour the guide told us to contact the company for a refund. 2 weeks later I am still trying to get someone to take my concerns seriously! Waste of money!

Pass on this cruise, clear night & we were too close to the city lights - 1. Never left out of the city lights so no chance to really see the northern lights 2. The tour guide was just talking into the microphone nonsensical comments: ‘we may see them in 20 min or we may not’ . Judging statements: ‘it is okay if you choose to stay inside but you should be up here’ 3. They should have offered everyone a hot chocolate not a beer coupon for another place 4. For many of us this is a once in a lifetime trip so giving us another coupon does not work 5. I would like a tour credit on viator for this trip because none of it was done properly. I have seen the northern lights in Canada and you cannot be in a harbor within the city limits. I have used your company many times. Thank you for your consideration. Maya Bunik

AVOID - A MASSIVE TOURIST TRAP/CON - Key failings 1) they take you about 500m from coast to the same fixed point and sit there for the evening - you are so close to shore and no effort made to find the right location to view Northern Lights 2) only a 5 minute spiel on NLs (probably from Wiki) and that is all you get - no updates on weather or best place to move to 3) the experience is not remotely luxury - it is mass market. So, you sail out 500m from coast, sit there for a while listening to cheesy music then sail back when the time is up. NLs by numbers. A massive tourist con. They were lazy - there were clear skies the night we were out but they didn’t even bother looking - we see this as a missed opportunity to see the lights - we could have seen them with other providers who try - so a complete waste of our time. The thought of repeating this experience (the no lights offer) depressed me in the extreme. My advice - do not waste your time.
