According to the law, passed in 1928, the protected area shall always be the property of the Icelandic nation, under the preservation of the Alþing.
- Gullfoss Waterfall - Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) is an iconic waterfall of Iceland offering a spectacular view of the forces and beauty of untouched nature. Gullfoss is located in South Iceland on the Hvítá (White) river which is fed by Iceland´s second biggest glacier, Langjökull. The water plummets down 32 meters in multiple stages into a rugged canyon which walls reach up to 70 meters in height. On a sunny day shimmering rainbow can be seen over the falls.
- Geysir - Geysir lies in the Haukadalur valley on the slopes of Laugarfjall hill, which is also the home to Strokkur geyser about 50 metres (160 ft) south.
- Friðheimar - Tomato farm with an amazing menu and drinks all made of organicly grown tomatos.
- Kerid Crater - Kerið is a volcanic crater lake formed about 6,500 years ago. It is oval, about 270 m long, 170 m wide and 55 m deep: the depth of the water at the bottom varies between 7 and 14 m. A truly stunning site.

Golden Circel Redux, i.e. Part II - This was our second time we did this tour, both booked with Viator. Walter, our guide, was superb, and quickly adapted to our modified version of what we wanted to see, i.e. deleting the volcano crater walk and spending more time elsewhere. He also had time at the end to add an often unseen waterfall which was very nice. The main geyser at Geysir is slowing down, try to watch at least 4-5 eruptions to get a tall one, the others will be short to medium. Stand on the uphill side or back side, that allows you to see the water up-welling several times in the center, which foreshadows an eruption. We use the video mode on our phones to capture the entire sequence and then at home take frame shots to allow the photobook to have a succession of stills showing this wonderful experience. Gullfoss has both an upper and a lower level, both should be viewed. If the wind blows the 'wrong' way, the lower trail has a section which gets more than mist, if will be a drizzle, that happened on our first visit two years ago but not this time. At the National Park, at the very bottom of the paved trail, there is a small waterfall with a hiking path to the top that can be done. We chose not to do it, yet again, to have time elsewhere, but would recommend it - it was supposedly a diversion that was made to funnel water into the stream and small rapids you cross on the path downhill for some historic meeting of dignataries. We remain curious what it looks like on top.

Private City Tour in Reykjavik and Golden Circle Tour - We had a great two days of touring with Walter Unnarsson and Iceland Tours by Taxi in Reykjavik. The first day Walter took us on a two hour city tour in Reykjavik and the second day on the Golden Circle Tour, which we absolutely loved. I found Walter via TripAdvisor three weeks before leaving for our cruise. Communication with him was fantastic via email and WhatsApp. He responded immediately to our request for a quote and confirmed all of our arrangements prior to our trip. Walter was always there (at the cruise terminal) prior to pick up time and went out of his way to make sure our trip went smoothly despite the rainy weather both days. Walter is a native Icelander with a great attitude and a great work ethic. His van is new and spotless. I highly recommend Walter and Iceland Tours by Taxi. Thank you Walter for a wonderful time.

Great experience! - Walter was fantastic! We were on a tight timeline but he made sure we saw all we wanted and then some. He was a wonderful and knowledgable guide who provided safe/timely transport to/fr airport and even stopped at special places for the kids while on the Golden Circle Tour. Highly recommend Iceland Tours by Taxi!!!

Excellent guide and service, book it!! :) - Book Iceland Tours By Taxi! Walter was patient, kind, fun and informative. It was a comfortable experience and he really made the most of the day. My mother was overly insistent about going to "the tomato restaurant," and he handled it with a smile. The tour included a lot and Walter was communicative about the time we should take at each stop and answered my "million questions" about daily life in Iceland. We had high expectations and he really impressed. Do yourself the favor, and make him part of your journey.

Wonderful trip not so good weather - The tour covered the highlights of Golden Circle. A must tour to do when in Iceland. The tomato farm is a very good place to visit. Found out that advance reservation is a must thing to do if you want a seating to eat lunch there. Our tour guide/ driver was very accommodating despite of the elements that my group had to tackle. Iceland weather is very unpredictable. For some reasons, the rain started every time we had to visit a place then it will stop after my group completed the visit. We were always wet during the tour despite of having the rain gear on. High winds and rain affected our trip. However, despite of the weather the tour guide/driver brought our group back to hotel safely. Thanks Viator and Taxi for giving us the chance to see the gems of Iceland.

A terrible Tour - I got very little information. We were jammed into a Tesla. At lunch he took us to a place and said go to the bar and then he disappeared. The only option at the bar was tomato soup which he didn’t tell us and we couldn’t ask questions because he just disappeared. He gave us no history or info about where we were. This was not a tour. This was a taxi ride. I will tell all traveling friends to never use Viatour. I basically wasted $1300 dollars. You should have someone contact me
