Cat Lovers Unite - This is a wonderful tour which blends the love of cats with the history of Iceland. Our tour guide knew all the hang-out spots for the local cats so we got to meet several! The cat cafe was so much fun and a great place to get a snack, drink, and warm up for a bit on a chilly day. We learned a lot about Reykjavik through interesting stories and folklore tales.

The cats (and some history) of Reykjavik. Fascinating! - Bardi was passionate about his cats, informative and engaging all the way. Highly recommend this as a first-day get acquainted tour, especially if you’re coming off a red-eye flight. Even if you’re not a cat person (I’m not particularly but my wife is), you’ll find this an entertaining introduction to this wonderful city.

Welcoming and friendly tour for all overs of cats! - We went to Iceland for a week as a family in March. The cat walking tour was one of our highlights. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Our guide was warm, friendly and welcoming, and was joined by the business owner, who was equally as friendly and helpful. Our host is a true lover of cats (which was ideal as we were missing our three cats at the time). I would highly recommend this unique and enjoyable tour for a great way to spend an afternoon in the beautiful city of Reykjavik.

One for the cat lovers - Myself, daughter and partner had the best time on this cat walking tour. We had the most incredible guide to show us where all the cats hang out. We also seen some of the best local sites and was taught about Icelandic history/mythology. The highlight was ending up with a hot chocolate in the cat cafe. Would highly recommend! ❤️

Educational, Informative & Entertaining - Did two walks the week of Christmas with my son and daughter-in-law....City Walk & Cat Walk. Both were excellent! City Walk was first and Esther E did a great job of telling us not only about the history of the city as well as the country. She also shared quite a bit about their culture. And sorry for not remembering the male guide's name for the Cat Walk, but he was just as informative and educational as Esther E. Doing these walks was a great way to learn from two locals about their country!

Fellow cat lovers, you'll like this one - We had a great time hanging out with other cat people and getting a tour of the downtown area. Loved getting a chance to meet his fur kids too. We missed one cat, but saw him later on when he came out of his nap. A great choice after an overnight flight not too intense and lots of fresh air

So glad we took this tour! - OMG what a wonderful experience. Our delightful guide started right off saying he is the proud father of three cats, and at the end of the tour we stopped at his cozy home to meet them. He lives a couple of blocks from THE church, so we boogied right over there after the tour, previously thinking we would have no time at all to se it while we were in Reykjavik. The statue of Leif Erickson was right in front of the church (Does anyone have his phone number???). The tour included businesses with their own kitties, businesses that sell cat-themed stuff, neighborhood cats, lots of city landmarks, and lots of stories of local cats, plus how their ancestors got to the island in the first place and oohing and ahhing over each other's pix of our own precious cats. The stop at the cat café was charming and yummy and full of photo ops. So glad we took this tour!

Great for animal lovers! - A must for any animal and folklore lover! We walked the city, learning history and spotting the famous cats of Reykjavik along the way. I loved going to the cat cafe and meeting some local kitties up for adoption too. Definitely a one of a kind tour that shouldn’t be missed!

Not the cat's meow -- at least not the day we went - On paper this sounded more interesting than it was in reality, at least the day we went. The highlight was "meeting" a bookstore cat (Bashtet, or a name like that -- the King of Cats!) and delicious hot chocolate at the cat cafe (where we witnessed a dramatic stand-off between two feline residents), along with some Icelandic folklore about cats. We seemed to skip over sights listed in the writeup of the tour (the oldest college in Reykjavik and the Parliament building, among them). The guide also said he never took his tours to the Einar Jonsson sculpture museum (also referenced in the write-up) because the sculptures were dark and depressing. The stories about cats in Icelandic folklore were potentially really interesting (they tended to be evil characters!) but our guide, who was not Icelandic, didn't appear to have more than a passing knowledge. Perhaps it was an off day for him. He was a personable young man (prompt and courteous) but we were hoping for a more memorable tour.
