Exceptional Experience at the Foodie Walking tour. - Our guide, Gardar, was amazing. We tasted delicious food and learned a lot about Icelandic history and culture along the way.

Your Friend in Reykjavik is an apropo name for this tour company - "BO" of Your Friend in Reykjavik was very pleasant and informative, and we had a lovely time. It is A LOT of food, not tasting portions like in other places. Come hungry! :-)

Must-do activity - First of all, the food experience was great! It felt like full-sized portions at every place we stopped - you will not walk away hungry! Everything we had was traditional and it was a great way to start our stay in Reykjavik. We wanted to try all the traditional things and this checked off so many things on the list! On top of that, our guide Stefan was wonderful. He really made the tour great. He was very engaging and gave us additional history about Iceland and its fairy tales. Highly recommend this tour! ...and you should try the shark!

Time Well Spent! - This was my second trip to Reykjavik and both times. we enjoyed the walking food tour. It was a perfect way to see downtown Reykjavik and sample some local cuisine. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the area. I highly recommend this activity early in your visit to get a great idea of what to visit during your stay.

Fun food tour! - We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour. We went around dinner time and tried several tasty options at several restaurants with great commentary from our guide. Of course the tour included the famous “Bill Clinton” hotdog as well as fermented shark. Highly recommended!

A very good tour - Our guide Ester (sp?) was terrific. In addition to the food experience she provided a lot of interesting information about Iceland’s history and government. The food offerings were only OK , except for the last stop which was great.

Tasty! - Fun tour through various restaurants to discover Icelandic food culture. We also went to a shop (the taste of Iceland) where there was a tasting of various flavors, including licorice and chocolate. Good Guide who knew a lot to tell.

Good food - not so engaging tour guide - This tour contained a good amount of food that was representative of the Icelandic cuisine. But unfortunately the tour guide, Birkir, was sadly lacking. He did give us some information about the Icelandic cuisine at one stop we made, but otherwise he basically just walked place to place without telling us anything about what we were passing. At some point our group made an effort to try to ask him questions to try to get him to talk more, but that met with very limited success. This would have been a great tour with a better guide... unfortunately I'm somewhat disappointed with the whole experience.

Stay away. Not a good experience. - We did this at 4.00 pm yesterday 26th Sept. Our host obviously did not want to be there. Just seemed tired and bored and kept looking at his watch. Walked too fast for some people yet we seem to arrive too early. Had one hour at one place. We had to dig information out of him. Luckily we had some fun people in our group. It could have been an awful afternoon. Food was fine. Completely over priced. Better just to do your own thing.
