Departing from Reykjavík’s Old Harbour, be part of the ultimate puffin exploration trip.
The excursion is undertaken in our bespoke RIB vessels, specifically crafted to bring you as near as nature will allow to the islands and when viable, we completely power down to create a peaceful environment for the birds, and of course, for you to savour the serenity. Throughout the journey, the guide and skipper will share fascinating information and stories about the puffins and the surrounding landscape.
Our RIBs boast the title of being the quickest boats in the harbour, thereby ensuring that most of your brief trip is spent amidst the birds.

Meet us in the ELDING ticket office located at Ægisgarður 5c by the Old Harbour district in Reykjavík. Once at the pier, simply follow the red colour to find us! Be sure to arrive at least 30 min. before departure to ensure enough time to check in and to board the boat.

Adorable Puffins! - Loved the Puffin tour! The boat ride was fun! The Puffins were adorable to watch from close to the island. We circled a part of the island and watched Puffins going about their life. Learnt a few amazing facts about them.

So much fun!! - We got lucky - it was a beautiful sunny day when we went on our trip. Regardless, the tour company was so professional and sent out emails before the trip along with pertinent information. I was very impressed that they had thermal suits for us to wear on the boat - think the space shuttle! It is breezy in the harbor and if you weren't wearing their suit you'd be cold and unhappy. We saw hundreds of puffins - in the air, on the water, on the island. They weren't very up close, but they did have binoculars to use, I addition to seeing the puffins, we had a wonderful boat ride in the harbor with a view of Reykjavik. The trip is expensive, but I'd say it's worth it!

See the Puffins! - It was a fun boat ride, fun to see Puffins, and the guide was very knowledgeable about the area sea life. On the way back our captain drove along the city shoreline for a different view of the city.

Fun boat trip - This is a fun boat trip where you get as close to the Puffins as is possible in a boat. Note that there is still quite a distance between you and them. You will need a good camera to get some good photos. However, it is still a fun activity and the boat ride itself is very enjoyable. At the end of the tour you go on a high speed tour past some Reykjavik landmarks such as the sun voyager. I would recommend.

The world of puffins - The company dressed us nice and warm with full suits, hats, gloves, goggles, etc… in case you forgot your gear. The puffin nesting islands were only about 10 minutes away. The boat was equipped with these wonderful cushioned seats that moved with the boat, including handles on the seat in front of you. You must stay on the boat away from the puffins; there’s no getting on the island. Although they attempt to get as close as possible, it’s very difficult to get good pictures with just a phone. Other than that, the guide told us all about the puffins. They also shared their photos taken with a big lens camera.

Quick and easy trip to see puffins in their natural habitat! - Great to see the puffins! Our guide, Olivia, is lovely and shared interesting background. Boat ride out was about 10 mins, and we had ~40 mins to watch the birds. I would describe this as a relatively “no frills” experience and exactly as described in the overview. A quick side note that I only received an email to arrive 30 mins prior to the boat ride time on the morning day of. We had to scramble a bit to rush over and then discovered that others, including our guide, didn’t arrive until maybe 10 mins prior - it would’ve been helpful to know the arrangements beforehand.

Poor Tour! - Worst experience. Saw no puffins. Only had a very fast boat ride in the harbor. Book another tour and save your money.

Too windy for .... - Unfortunately the strong wind (60 km/h) did not allow me to make the trip. Peccato ! Hope for quick full refund

Poor Puffin Tour - If you are looking for a speed boat ride as the driver goes through other boats wakes - then this tour is for you. If you want to see Puffins up close use another tour operator.
