Silfra - Upon arrival to the park, don your dry suit and snorkel and prepare to plunge into the crystalline depths of Silfra fissure. Listen to a comprehensive safety briefing and then descend to discover a mesmerizing underwater tabelau. Gae at a ravine that stretches some 82 feet (25 meters) below the water‘s surface and then follow your guide to some of the fissure‘s most scenic spots. Glide effortlessly between the American and European continents and see jagged rocks and gaping voids that lead to the molten core of planet Earth

Experience the irreplaceable opportunity of snorkeling between two tectonic plates at Thingvellir National Park. Following a convenient pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik, you’ll be transported to the world-renowned park recognized by UNESCO. Once there, you’ll suit up in the provided dry suit and embark towards Lake Thingvallavatn. Plunge into the crystal clear waters of the Silfra fissure, a geographical marvel marking the separation between the American and European tectonic plates. Enjoy an illustration of underwater beauty during an unmatchable 40-minute snorkeling adventure. To ensure an intimate and personalized experience, the groups are capped at eight persons per guide.

Minimum age is 12 years old. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian booked on the same tour.
It is recommended to bring a change of clothing, packed lunch and warm undergarments

Requirements: Weight limit: 45-120kg. Height limit: 150cm – 200cm.

Great experience for a family with older teens - We had a great experience with Fede who was really patient and helped us all feel relaxed despite some trepidation. The process of getting us briefed and all suited up incredibly efficient and the dry suit and other kit were of high quality and effective. We all enjoyed the wonderful spectacle of seeing the fissure and felt safe and well monitored throughout. Really nice to get the free photos afterwards also

Try to get discount to ease expensive excursion costs - We did 4 tours with Arctic Adventures, including the "Golden Circle & Snorkeling" day trip in late July 2024. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Ricardo was our snorkeling guide, and he was outstanding! The bright orange and green seaweed/algae, in contrast with the blue water, was stunning. They take pictures of you during the snorkel, which is a nice keepsake. If you plan on booking multiple tours with Arctic Adventures, you can ask for a discount code before booking (which was 10%). I also noticed that after you complete a tour, you are sent an automated e-mal with a 15% discount code if you book another excursion. The area where the company can improve is on pick-up information. All of our excursions were at the City Hall pick-up point downtown. On some of the excursions they explicitly state the name of a third party company that will be picking you up. But on one of our excursions, this was not the case. On that day, it was a particularly busy pick up morning, with a lot of companies coming and going. A lot of the drivers do not speak up, so you have to go up and ask. We ended up missing our original pick-up because of the lack of directions/instructions for that tour. The company managed to scramble another vehicle for us, but only because I paid attention to their e-mails that morning (thanks to City Hall wi-fi access) which stated we missed out pick-up and to contact them. Otherwise, great experience.

Excellent Guides - I thought Francesca was excellent, she was calm and helpful throughout the whole process. I was apprehensive going into this but tried to have a positive vibe and she was able to make me feel relaxed and I really enjoyed the time there. Once in a lifetime event

Beautiful and thrilling! - A very beautiful and thrilling experience. As someone who’s never snorkeled before, this was scary for me! Ha. So I encourage any first timers to practice first before doing this. It’s not impossible, but it will help your confidence. Our guide Isamar from Spain was very patient with me as I had some trouble getting used to it in the beginning. Everyone was very kind to us as well. The cookies and hot chocolate at the end were a great treat to finish our time.

Great Assistance from Arctic Adventure Guides during Snorkeling in Silfra Experience - My wife and I really wanted to snorkel between the tectonic plates as a unique experience in Iceland. I have a disability in one arm and the Arctic Adventures team, especially Ricardo, were fantastic in getting me and that non-functioning arm into the tight undersuit and then drysuit. The snorkeling was a fantastic and magical experience in such clear water. I felt safe and surprisingly warm in the just-above-freezing water. I would thoroughly recommend Arctic Adventures for the Silfra experience. We chose Arctic Adventures as they had availability on day we wanted to go, had photos included and could offer the transportation from Reykjavik. We booked the tour online which was highly efficient and the pick-up bus turned up in the window it was supposed to. A great operation!
