- Glacier Lagoon - Vatnajokull glacier is massive, covering 14,000 sq km and it is Breidamerkurjokull, one of the many sections of this great glacier, that creates the magical Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. From there is an easy walk down to the Diamond Beach where you can see icebergs that have washed up on the black sand beach, glittering in the sun like jewels.

- Skeiðarársandur - Drive through the starkly beautiful black sand expanse of Skeidararsandur.

The South Coast and Glacier Lagoon Exploration presents a day of experiencing the thrilling variety of Iceland’s landscape. It provides breathtaking views of Vatnajokull glacier, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls as well as the glittering ice fragments on Diamond Beach at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon.
En route to the glacier lagoon, you traverse through the South Coast region of Iceland, an area punctuated by spectacular waterfalls, stark black sands, gigantic glaciers and volcanoes mingling with pastoral scenes. You will enjoy unmissable views of the Skaftafell wilderness within the Vatnajokull National Park and journey through the dramatic black sand stretch of Skeidararsandur. On nearing the lagoon, you’ll also sight Iceland’s largest active volcano, Oraefajokull.
- Please note: Boat tours on the glacier lagoon are not included in the tour price.
- Warm and waterproof clothing is recommended
- Drop-off after tour may not be directly in front of your hotel, depending on route and traffic limitations.

Loved it - This trip was incredible. Be prepared it is alot of travelling by bus and very tiring however all the stops made it so very worthwhile though. Plenty of stops for food and bathroom breaks. The lagoon and diamond beach were both very beautiful. Our Guide and bus driver were great, driving in very snowy conditions at times but seemed well use to it.

Magical Trip - Magical Trip & worth every penny.14 to 15 hours trip hatsoff to the driver for his stamina and calibre as well as the lady guide.Worth visit

What a beautiful day!! - This was a long day, but what a day!! Our guide, Emelia, was so knowledgeable about everything! Beautiful scenery, fun facts and stories, every stop was fantastic and our guide was excellent at keeping us all to time and informed of the plan. Then the icing on the cake, the Northern lights making an appearance over the waterfall on our way back. Stunning. The driver, Obbi, was also great. Good fun, drove through all weathers that day without issue, even sang to us a couple of times. Really fantastic day. We had 3 children with us, our youngest is 6. She loved it, said it was her favourite day. Thank you so much.

5 stars!! - This was such a fun filled tour! It was a very long day, but the stops were so worth it and the bus was comfortable and also had free wifi to enjoy during your time on the road. We hit so many great stops and even ended the night with seeing the Northern Lights! We definitely recommend

Very long day! Sit back and see Iceland from route 1 - Although I was prepared for the long duration of the tour, after 15 hours I was grateful to be off to the bus and ready to curl up in bed. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and she added a lot of personal experience and knowledge to her commentary. I would say it did feel rushed at the earlier sites. I appreciate this is because we are chasing the sun to get to the Glacier Lagoon in time but it did seem a little excessive. At Skogafoss we only had 25 minutes which was only just enough time to run up the very steep stairs for photos at the top, to then rush back down and get photos at the bottom. I appreciate that we needed longer breaks at Vik (both there and back) for the driver, but this would be better communicated to guests as there was some grumbling from others. Had a 1.5 hours at Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach which was appreciated. Had a great sunset which made the beaches icebergs look beautiful. Stopping at Seljalandsfoss on the way back in the dark was something I didn’t realised was on the itinerary but it was really cool to see it illuminated. Although we didn’t see an aurora on our drive back, our guide was on the look out for us which was very appreciated. Be aware that although there is a toilet on board, this is only “for emergencies”, so make sure that you go to the toilet at any stops. Overall a great day, and this was for our honeymoon, although I have seen these sites before, my husband hadn’t so for the price paid it would be nice to not have felt rushed as for many this is a once in a lifetime trip

Don’t go with a large company - I communicated with greyline(a large company) several times. On the day of the tour their pickup partner came by my pickup bus stop about 30 minutes late and told me that I was on the pickup list but that now my tour was cancelled. That sent no notification of cancellation and now I’m having a hard time getting a refund

Do not use this company! - The bus driver and guide were terrible. Driver was rude. Guide was extremely uninvolved and uninterested- acted more as a shepherd than a guide. Seemed more interested in looking at her phone than providing information to us. Also seemed way more interested in bus driver than the group. Bus driver and guide had inappropriate conversations- which resulted in them insulting “tourists”, tourist drivers and then bus driver made a comment about these clueless tourists being “chinese.” Did he have no clue that we could hear them or did they assume we didn’t speak english? It was so offensive- that and their lazy attitudes spoiled the entire trip! I prefered my iceland bus tour of the golden circle anyday over this one! ALSO driver claimed bathroom was “broken” and guide admonished one guest for using it even though they NEVER told us bathroom wasn’t working! Beware if your traveling with a 70 year old mother who many need the restroom more than others like I was! Use another company!

Be careful in case of cancellation .. from them...refund that does not arrive - The activity paid on 24/12, debited on 25/12 for an excursion on 25/12 finally cancelled due to the weather conditions... I am still waiting for the refund and it is 11/01. No news despite several reminders by email and phone...
