Additional Information

Our journey to the south unfolds into a landscape featuring glaciers, farmlands, and volcanoes eagerly waiting to be captured by our cameras on one side, while the alluring Westman Islands flicker on the sea’s horizon. Our itinerary includes a pit stop at the renowned Seljalandsfoss. Here, if the conditions permit, we venture behind the falls before we proceed to its concealed neighbor, Gljúfrabúi, nestled in the mountainside. We continue our exploration to uncover Skógarfoss with its striking 60-meter drop. Our subsequent destination is the much frequented town, Vík í Mýrdal for lunch. After which, we reroute to the dark sand beaches of Reynisfjara for some exploration and to absorb the stunning surroundings. We resume our journey on the Viking Trail, this time pursuing the coastal route towards the Sólheimajökull glacier. After stepping onto it, we head back to Reykjavik. A small group and a pleasant minibus ride enhance the day’s experience.

Memorable, beautiful tour - I really enjoyed the South Coast tour with East West, beautiful waterfalls, black sand beach, glacier and depending on time available you may just get a surprise bonus stop. Devin our guide was very friendly, fun and entertaining with a good balance of landscape and cultural information along with chosen music to break up the 9 + hr tour. The weather was cloudy and rainy at times but it didn't dampen our spirits due to the beauty of our surroundings and caring guide along the way, highly recommend.

Fantastic tour - This tour is fantastic. We had Leroy as our guide and he was full of information and facts that he shared during the trip. The tour was a nice way to see several stops in one day, learn facts about each stop, and be able to rest while traveling to each. The trip had adequate restrooms breaks and a nice lunch break that allowed plenty of time to eat.

This Excursion belongs on your List! - If you only have a couple of days in Reykjavík, I recommend that you put this one on top of your excursions list. We were on a 11-day cruise prior to our arrival and of all the excursions we joined, this one tops them all. Our tour guide, Leroy, was awesome. He gave us history, interesting stories, and fun facts. His energy & enthusiasm remained high throughout the 9 hours.. We enjoyed all of our stops. My favorite was going behind the beautiful waterfall at Seljalandsfoss. My husband enjoyed the massive waterfall at Skógafoss. Hope to revisit the South Coast again. We’ll be looking for you Leroy of EastWest Island Tours!

Don't hesitate to book - I was a little sceptical about taking a group tour but being a solo traveller without a car and limited time meant I chose this south coast tour for my introduction to Iceland. I have no regrets. The tour guide Martin made the trip for me. He was knowledgeable, helpful, cheerful and always enthusiastic and made sure everything was paced well, and gave us a great overview of Iceland and its history and geology. The minibus was terrific and being part of a small group made a huge difference. Pick up was easy. And of course, nothing prepares you for the incredible natural wonders you will find here. I can't recommend this tour enough, and again a big shout out to Martin.

Worth every penny! Marvelous guide! - This was one of the best day trips I have ever taken, and it is truly due to the fabulous guide: Bjorn Julius Grimsson. He is passionate about trekking and his country, a witty storyteller, and a warm personality. Sometimes guides stick to a script- Bjorn was always interesting and knowledgeable. I would definitely request him if I knew he were available. This day trip, in general, is worth every penny.
