Such a cool experience - Omar was our tour guide and he was amazing. Very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and a great photographer. The hike itself was beautiful but I wouldn’t say it was easy. Pretty steep so keep that in mind. The sites were amazing and it was very cool to see the lava.

Amazing! - This tour got changed to a different hike and the hot river and it was amazing. The guide we had was so friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. I can't remember his name but if we went back, I would love to request him again. Highly recommend!

Wow, I would do this again - This was an incredible hike, the topography and geological aftermath of the 2021,2022 and 2023 eruptions were breathtaking and other worldly. It was a challenging 10 kilometer hike, led by Dave and Ignacio , but worth it for the views, it took our group a solid 4 hours round trip including about an hour of viewing stops and according to our guides , we were going at a relatively fast clip,.. Be advised there is no rest stop after the hike ( we did about 2 hours of sightseeing and driving afterwards) so avail yourself of the portapotties before leaving the site, and bring enough water and food for the day as there is no place visited for either. Kudos to our masterful bus driver Artur on some really narrow roads! We retuned back to Reykjavik for a meal and rest before being picked up by our Aurora lights tour led by Victoria and driven masterfully by Halli. It was a beautiful, clear night but alas the Northern lights eluded us. Nonetheless, Vicki told tales of Icelandic folklore and sang songs of childhood ( she has an incredible voice!!), gave us hot chocolate and her energy really made it a very worthwhile event. The stars at night in Iceland are bright and plentiful with many wishes on shooting stars made. Glad we tried! All in all, an wonderful and memorable day!

Life changing experience - Best experience I have had in Iceland. The tour guide was amazing and informative. I do wish I got a pickup up time for the northern lights. I missed the bus for that, but it was an overall great experience

Overall a good day out! - Walking around the Meradalir volcano was an enjoyable experience. I really liked seeing the new lava fields and using them to warm back up (they're still so warm!) as the day itself was very cold and windy. However, our guide was not that concerned about keeping the group together and as a consequence two people from our tour wandered off and we had to wait on the bus for over an hour before they could be found. There's also no toilet facilities near the volcano so that meant another hour before we made it to a toilet stop. Our guide for the Northern lights tour was the master of managing expectations. We didn't see the lights and didn't have time to rebook for another night so alas maybe our next trip to Iceland will be more fruitful. The hot chocolate and fire pit were very much appreciated though.
