Great way to experience the whales! - What an incredible experience! We saw three different humpback whales on our tour, and all of them were close enough to get some incredible views. The boat ride itself was very pleasant, with serene views of the Atlantic even when the whales were not around. It did take a while to find them, though we enjoyed drinks in the lounge in the meantime. This tour is LONG, so be prepared to go to bed a bit late. There isn't likely to be anything open afterward so eat beforehand (the boat sometimes serves soup and sandwiches, but ours was out). I would also recommend coming prepared for the cold. Even though the weather on land was mild, out on the ocean it was freezing! They do offer some waterproof overalls to borrow on the boat if you'd like. I'm really glad we chose to do this tour with Elding, who are respectable contributors to the research and conservation of Iceland's whales. It was clear to us that Elding was dedicated to the well-being of the animals we were visiting, and that they went out of their way not to disturb the whales in the process. By the way, if you don't want to be bogged down trying to get photos yourself during the tour (and it's really hard to do - the whales are fast!), the tour guide will send you the professional photos afterward on request. I really recommend emailing about it. We got some beautiful pictures of the whales for friends and family without missing a moment ourselves!

A beautiful evening and some beautiful animals. - We were very lucky to have seen several humpback whales and a lovely sunset over a very calm sea. Zero complaints, many memories

Fab trip, we were very luck with the whales - Great trip, especially on a bigger boat I didn’t know what to expect. It’s definitely more social (small cafe/bar inside) but we still managed to see a couple of humpback whales and a minke whale up super close which was amazing. Alex the guide did a brilliant job. It gets very cold so make sure you wear layers!

Great trip! - Great trip, we saw a number of Humpback Whales, including one who came very close to the boat (less than 10 meters distance), as well as a Minke Whale and several nice birds including some Puffins. The upper deck provides a great view and downstairs you can warm up, get a drink and/or go to the bathroom. Not cheap but still highly recommended.

You can’t get a better tour company. - Saw the midnight trip on July 29th. It was from 8:30pm to 11:30pm. It was a spectacular trip. Our guide was a British biologist and he was really great and informative. We saw 5 different humpback whales and lots of puffins diving up close. We wore the red suits they provide for free below deck which helped with the cold. The entire crew was great and I felt they were very respectful of the animals. We didn’t stay in the same spot too long so as not to disturb the whale eating. The pictures show the amount of daylight at 11pm. We did go on a pretty clear evening. We parked on the other side of this harbor and paid like $14 for the 3 hours. Make sure you pay for parking because Iceland loves giving parking tickets out. These tours pretty much costs the same and I chose this company due to the reviews and they were accurate.

Wonderful sights during sunset - We spontaneously decided to go on a midnight sun whale watching trip and it was an awesome decision! We saw so many humpbacks whales, some further away, some very close to the boat! The highlight of the trip was tho when we saw a whale breaching just in front of the boat! A truly unique experience and all of this while having a beautiful sunset.

Whales all around - I joined the midnight tour with an amazing and professional crew Sergio and Lasse. The atmosphere was incredible. We saw whales everywhere around us the whole time of the tour. Also the crew included captain put so much afford to find the right spot for watching. I would like to thank you the whole crew for one of the best memories in my life!🙏🏻🥹

nature is undependable - This was an amazing tour. The boat is comfortable, the bar prices are reasonable for Iceland (bring your own cup for a 50% discount!). I was on a tour twice, and once we saw almost nothing and the second we saw so many leaping whales and dolphins it was almost unreal :) You can get pictures after the fact directly from Elding, but they weren't very good.

Interesting tour - Good experience overall. Please work on the speaker system. The narrator was unintelligible which means we missed out on nearly everything she had to say. As a result we did not know when we might have been looking at the puffins. I suppose we saw them and did not know what we were looking at.
