Additional Information

Experience sightings of whales, dolphins, porpoises and birds during this ~3-hour voyage departing from Reykjavik. Observe these marine animals in their authentic habitats off the coast of the capital. With more than 90% of summer trips and 80% of winter trips resulting in mammal sightings, the chances are favorable. However, if you don’t see a whale or dolphin on your trip, we offer a free ticket for a future tour.

Elding is globally acknowledged for its focus on sustainability, operating as an eco-friendly organization. We’re dedicated to minimizing our operational impact on the environment, while still providing a memorable sea adventure.

Our operations adhere to a code of conduct promoting responsible whale watching.

  • The tour may sometimes depart from other harbours when the conditions in Reykjavík are rough. In this case, the tour may be 1-2 hrs. longer than advertised.

Amazing Experience - This is well worth it. We had a wonderful time and found it such an amazing experience. We saw a humpback whale very close. There was a photographer on board that took pictures of the wildlife which I thought was great as we could just enjoy the experience without screens and you can request these for free after.

Everything to expect - Everything you'd expect. We were offered motion sickness pills and warm overalls. Chose to stand outside the whole trip but you could also sit in the cafe. Nice, informative Guide who talked just enough. We saw both porpoises and humpback whales and it was clear that the organizer showed respect for nature. You could also get all pictures from the tour for free afterwards on email. Luck took three hours and it was just long enough.
