BOOK THIS PLACE - This was my wife’s and my last activity on our 8 day trip in Iceland and this was probably one of my favorite if not my favorite activity we did. This was my first time riding a horse so I was a tad bit nervous at first but to the staff specifically Emma, Claire & Sofie you guys made this trip magic for my wife and I. I want you three to get personal credit you guys were some the sweetest people we met on our trip it was such a fun ride and a great trail you take us on through the lava fields. I hope you three have a fun summer in Reykjavik! Give Nassi and Concert some love from us. Thank you!! -Dax and Alma 9 July 2024

Great ponies! - Excellent well behaved ponies. Some of the more adventurous travelers who never rode or been forever felt comfortable riding the tolt and a longer ride. I saw they had rain gear available if the day looks bad. We were very lucky

Wonderful experience - Clara and the other leaders were great. Equipment was good and horses appeared well cared for. Would have loved to have trotted but settled for the tolt

Fun afternoon for all ages! - Fun afternoon with Icelandic horses. They try to match your riding ability to the horses and take you on a very pretty ride. Pickup/dropoff from hotel were timely. Most of the staff was very friendly!

Great option for riding. - Easy to get to from Reykjavik, easy check in. Nice ride not too steep, couple of faster sections for horses, they'll take some good pics in a scenic area. Overall a good experience. Friendly people too

Small But Mighty! - What can I say about these sturdy little Icelandic horses? They're surefooted, sweet tempered and very, very easy to get on and off. Great ride through the mountains close to the city. Great guides/trainers who the horses trust and so do the riders..

A must Experience Ride & View - My husband and I were undecided as it was our last day here for our 1 year Wedding Anniversary Trip to Iceland. He wanted to go to the Lava Tunnel Tour, I wanted a chance to ride Icelandic horse. I suggested we could go on separate Tours he decided he would go with me. The weather showed some rain. I was looking at doing a different horse riding tour a few days prior, but opted out. When I read the reviews on this Lava Horse Riding Tour, It sound like it was worth taking a chance on and hope the weather be nice. The pick up was within time stated, driver didn't share any info (not about the business or area we were riding through) like a tour guide would during the commute. However The Horse tour ride exceeded our expectations as far as riding through the mountains, the water and city view was awesome. Being able to not just walk but had time of walking at a faster pace and a good length of riding time overall added to the adventure. There was experience staff riding and assisting where needed. It was worth every cent. The weather held out pretty well, there were a few showers. To top it off we had a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate at the end. I love hot Chocolate. If the guide in the front was giving the history or information on the type of mountains, lava etc. we were passing through we could not hear it. I doubt that she was. So I would suggest they give a little historical information about the area we were exploring before, during the ride, or at a pause point. Perhaps when they make that stop for the pictures, one of the staff could give a brief history of the tour area etc. or show a video/slide show prior to take off that doesn't giveaway the tour surprises but shares some historical facts would be good.

Good Walking Ride for Beginners - Beautiful area, very safe, for beginners only. Horses are nose to tail during the entire ride. You could drop the reins and there would be no difference. Speed is all dependent on the animal in front of you. Experienced riders will be disappointed as you are not allowed to actually ride your horse. We did nor tolt because we were so bunched together it was impossible. The result was a jarring trot. Guides were really nice though.
