As you traverse the Ihlara Valley, the crisp winter air and the gentle crunch of snow underfoot create a serene atmosphere, perfect for reflection. The Selime Monastery, with its rock-cut architecture, offers a glimpse into the monastic life of centuries past. A review from November 25, 2024, captures the essence of this experience:
Amazing Agency - We booked the Green Tour, but, unfortunately, since there was heavy snow in Cappadocia, we were not able to do it. The agency had all the reasons to cancel the tour, they were able to provide us with a spot in their Red Tour instead. The tour was fantastic and the guide was very knowledgeable. Even with the wind and snow conditions, he made sure we all had a wonderful time. I am sure that the Green Tour would have been fantastic with this agency, but we truly loved the Red Tour as well. Fully recommend them, they are very professional and nice.
A Journey Through Cappadocia’s Artistic Heritage
For those seeking a deeper connection with Cappadocia’s artistic heritage, the Cappadocia Red Tour is an unmissable experience. Available from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on December 28th and 29th, this tour takes you to the Goreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, the rock-carved churches and monasteries, adorned with well-preserved frescoes, tell stories of faith and resilience.
The tour also includes a visit to Uchisar Castle, where the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape are nothing short of breathtaking. As you wander through these historical sites, the overcast skies and occasional snow flurries add a touch of magic to the experience. A review from October 18, 2024, perfectly encapsulates the tour’s impact:
