- Muro Das Nove Janelas - Near the Devassa Mountain lies the Wall of the Nine Windows, a historically significant aqueduct. The abundance of water in the parish of Santo António led to the construction of this aqueduct between the 17th and 18th centuries to address the water scarcity in Ponta Delgada. Water from the Canário lake area flowed above its arches, known as the “Nine Windows.” The Wall of the Nine Windows was restored to its former grandeur by the Municipal Services of Ponta Delgada, preventing further deterioration.
- Vista do Rei Miradouro - Named after the visit of King Charles I and Queen Amelia in the summer of 1901, this viewpoint offers a stunning view of the Sete Cidades caldera and its lake. It is one of the most iconic landscapes in the Azores.
- Miradouro Das Cumeeiras - Located on Cumeeiras, this viewpoint provides a contrasting perspective to Vista do Rei, showcasing the beauty of the Sete Cidades crater and its surroundings. On the opposite side, visitors can enjoy views of São Miguel’s northern coast and its lush green pastures dotted with cows.
- Pico da Pedra - Conclusion of the tour
- Lagoa Verde / Lagoa das Sete Cidades - The Sete Cidades caldera spans approximately 5km in diameter and reaches a depth of 400m. The volcano’s highest point is 845m above sea level. The edges, known as Cumeeiras das Sete Cidades (large and small), form a walking trail encircling the summits of one of the largest volcanic calderas in the Azores, featuring four lagoons: Lagoa de Santiago, Lagoa Rasa, Lagoa Azul, and Lagoa Verde, all interconnected. These lagoons are a major highlight of Azores Tourism and are recognized as one of Portugal’s 7 natural wonders in the non-marine aquatic areas category. The colors of the lagoons are linked to the legend of Sete Cidades, which tells of a blue-eyed princess and a green-eyed shepherd. However, the color difference is due to Lagoa Verde’s more enclosed slopes, which reflect more of the surrounding vegetation, while the larger blue lagoon reflects more of the sky.
