Amazing experience - Out tour guide was a lovely and gave us interesting information about the market. We got to taste a lot of different interesting foods and we got quite full! We also got to taste balsam and Latvian champagne!!! Really recommend this as you try foods you most likely wouldn't choose by yourself!

Brilliant experience trying local foods - An excellent experience, trying lots of local delicacies. We tried about 20 or so different food and drinks, so don't eat before you go. The guide Guna was brilliant, providing us with lots of information about the food and how it fits in with latvian traditions, as well as historical information about the market itself.

Recommended walking tour - Very nice guide, very nice, historical location. We were surprised at the variety of samples we would be served. Everything from soup, chicken, dessert, pickled vegetables to fish was there. We found it more than worth the money

Excellent market tour - Guna from Riga Tours was a fantastic guide - we visited many different parts of the Riga Market and Guna told us all about the food, the market, Latvian culture and really gave us an insight. Very well organised, it was very sociable and a brilliant way to spend a few hours. We also had plenty to eat and we tasted lots of different foods. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Great Guide and Experienceful Tour! - Our Guide, who I have unfortunately forgotten the name of, but she said that she is a teacher of English and Spanish and lives in Jurmala was very good! We got a lot of information, had time for a lot and tasted a lot and it did not feel in the least stressful or that we were in a hurry. The guide helped us with information that was not included in the tour (we wanted to go to Jurmala after the tour and she explained how to buy train tickets and the like). We got to hear about the country's economy, raw materials, exports, traditions and lots more! We had both food tasting (cheese, black beans with bacon, some kind of herring cake, bread, dessert, fish sandwiches) and spirit tasting (riga balsam and bubbly). We booked the old town - walking tour with the same organizer too and it was just as good. Highly recommended!

Relaxed food tour - enjoyed by both me and my 11 year old - Enjoyed the tour - knowledgeable guide with good English. A good range of different foods to try and some fun anecdotes/stories thrown in. My 11 year old also enjoyed it. Just about the right length of time and pace - we then spent some more time looking about in the market on our own, with at least a little idea of what we were looking at having just been on the tour!

Lovely Tour Guide - The lady was lovely who took us around the market but to be honest I wasn’t keen on the food we tried and there wasn’t a lot of backstory.

Never again - A guide arrived right on the appointed time, did not check tickets, take names, split the group and started walking. We tried to follow but were soon left far behind (I’m 71). We stumbled upon them outside the market as the guide finished her introduction. Off they went & we lost them again - never to be seen again. We experienced none of the tastings. The meeting place was on a busy corner - are there no squares nearby… like outside St John’s? A disappointing non-experience.
