• Rila Monastery - The journey begins at 10 am with a pick-up from your location in Sofia. The drive to the monastery takes approximately 2 hours along a picturesque route.

Rila Monastery was founded in the 10th century by the Bulgarian Saint John of Rila, known as the miracle worker. It is the largest and most stunning Bulgarian monastery. The current monastery complex was constructed in the 19th century.

Upon arrival, you will have 3 hours of free time to explore if you have chosen the driver-only option, or you will enjoy a guided tour plus free time if you have selected the tour guide option.

The monastery also features several museums that you may choose to visit if interested, along with souvenir shops and a bakery.

During your free time, you should also take your lunch break. You can either bring your own food from Sofia, which is a great idea in the summer if you wish to spend more time outdoors, or you can request the driver to take you to one of the nearby restaurants.
