• La Vanille Nature Park - Located in the southern part of the island and covering 3.5 hectares, this reserve was established in 1985. It is home to the largest colony of turtles, with 1,000 individuals, including Domino, the oldest and one of the largest turtles in the world.

The park also houses 2,000 Nile crocodiles, which can be observed at various stages of their development. Visitors will also have the chance to see monkeys, bats, deer, geckos, wild boars, and carp, among other species in the reserve.

Renowned across the island, the park features an insectarium showcasing the work of Jacques Siedlecki, with a collection of 23,000 species of beetles, butterflies, and other insects in a variety of shapes and colors.

La Vanille Nature Park, formerly known as La Vanille Crocodile Park, was founded in 1985. The park’s name is inspired by the ancient vine that grows in the valley where this 5-hectare sanctuary is situated.
