Amazing experience! - The activities planned were very fun. The pink lakes are beautiful, the lagoon tour was so peaceful and we got to see flamingos and so other wildlife in their natural habitats! Our guide was very fun, sociable, and kept things alive and interesting. Be aware that it takes a long time (3h) to reach the destination which leads to very long day. I left Cancun around 6 am and returned 14 hours later but it was worth it! I would definitely recommend this excursion

Very dreamy place - Although the Pink Lake is a long way away, seeing the dreamy Pink Lake with our own eyes is really beautiful. Coupled with the boat ride and mud bathing experience, we had a great time throughout the trip! It’s a very worthwhile journey! There is no shopping trip, the tour leader is professional and doesn’t talk nonsense, and he will also help you take beautiful photos. It is really outstanding!

A must see tour with great tour guides! - Very good tour with a safe driver & great tour guides. Our main tour guide Arturo was phenomenal as he explained the itinerary & attractions in 3 languages. It was a full day of seeing Las Coloradas & enjoying the boat ride to Rio Lagartos.

Fun and packed day - Great tour! It was an action packed day. We first went to see the pink river, it was absolutely gorgeous! We then went on a boat ride and it was so fun feeding the seagulls. There’s an optional mudbath along with the boat tour, and it was very interesting. The boat took us to a small island filled with special mud and we pour mud all around our bodies (p.s., make sure to wear your swimsuit before getting on the boat). The mud felt super silly and soft! Afterwards the boat took us to near the Gulf of Mexico wear we can wash off the mud. We then head to an island nearby where we enjoyed lunch. I got the butter fish, highly recommend (it was freshly caught the morning of). After lunch we went to a crocodile farm where we get to pet and feed live crocodiles under the safe supervision from the workers! I highly highly recommend this tour!!

Nice to experience the Maya way of life - The guide is good and the experience of really fantastic. The huge issue is the mode of transport. The vehicle is not suitable for such long journey. Very tight and we are just packed like sardine fish in a can. The tour operator should look for a better vehicle that is suitable for such journey

Nice but long ride - Nice trip but car ride was so long and uncomfortable. Started off with 14 people in van for for 12. Eventually a second car was sent. Expect 4 hours each way if coming from Cancun.

Worth to try - Not many guide and explanation at the tourist site. The lunch is pretty authentic Mexican styles. But overall experience is not bad.

You be the Judge - We booked through Viator and the listing (now been updated) had 6:30am pick up on the actual title of the excursion. The 3 confirmations received all listed 6:30am. However, the tour company WeChatted me that pick up was 5:30am and admittedly I missed that note. We were late for the pick up time - I not once argued that or ever asked for a refund. Here's the rub. We ran out of the lobby as the shuttle was pulling away. We waved and shouted enough for the driver to pump the breaks and then drive away. I was on WeChat with the operator who was in direct communication with the driver and asked him to have the driver stop or turn around. We could have ran to the van in 20 seconds. He absolutely REFUSED to ask the driver to stop, telling me it was my fault, I was late, he was already sending "proof" that it was my fault to Viator. The bellman, witnessing the scene live decided to call the guy at the security gate to have the van driver stop or turn around and the driver again refused. In that moment, literally in total less than 2 minutes, they had 3 chances to do the right thing and they intentionally and adamantly refused. Instead, the operator spent 30 minutes chatting back and forth with me about how it was my fault and pointing blame. Eventually, they did offer to rebook us for another date - which again I never asked for, but we passed. I simply didn't trust people like this to take us 3.5 hours into the middle of Mexico. If something real actually were to happen, I have zero confidence they would have the common sense or decency to actually do the right thing.

100% not worth it. - 0/5 stars, do not recommend. The Coloradas themselves are really cool, just don’t go through Viator. We started the day with the driver calling us and saying you need to come outside and walk down the street and we’ll pick you up. We were immediately alarmed because every other tour guide had to go through the security gate and tell the guard his name, and taxi number. This driver argued with us for five minutes, refusing to come inside the hotel claiming the gate attendant wouldn’t let him in. When in actuality we could see the gate from where we were standing outside the hotel and he wasn’t there. He finally relented and registered his vehicle to come inside the hotel. When he did he was clearly angry with us which is bizarre because we were following hotel protocol which he should be familiar with as a driver. We drove to the next spot in uncomfortable silence and we were all very stressed out that we had just put ourselves in an unsafe situation. When we got to the next meeting spot we got into a second van where eventually other passengers were picked up and we felt a little more at ease. Now when they say “breakfast is included” what they mean is a breakfast you could expect in prison. White bread, one slice of baloney, half a slice of American cheese. The trip is advertised as being a three hour car trip each way. The first leg of the trip was FIVE hours. The van was hot with no ac, even when we asked the driver to turn it on and he kept saying over and over “there’s only the Mayan bathroom for this trip” . His idea of a joke- meaning we would have to pee in the grass outside, on the road if we needed to use the bathroom at any point in our FIVE HOUR van trip. When we finally arrived at las Coloradas we were ushered off the van and told to walk around the edge of the lake. After walking about 10 minutes I asked our guide/driver if he could please explain a little about the lakes, (how they come to be pink for example) he said, “later, just keep walking”. At no point did he explain about the lakes we paid all this money and traveled all this way to see. What he did do was busy himself taking selfies and his own pictures of the lake. I’ll fast forward through the rest, lunch was inedible, service was bad. Rio Lagartos was really cool and luckily we had a different guide for that portion of the trip who was friendly and pointed out things for us to see. The crocodile sanctuary was ok, the people who work there were very nice and informative. Rounding up our trip was a SIX HOUR trip back where again we were not provided with water, ac, or an opportunity to use a bathroom. At the end of the trip the driver made an awkward and uncomfortable speech about leaving him gratuity and showing gratitude for all he had done for us throughout the day. Find any other way to see the Coloradas besides this company.
