Amazing experience & great personal service for competitive prices - I found Isaira Tours by from a forum on TripAdvisor. I was searching and comparing numerous tour companies and found that Isaira had the most competitive prices, but still a respectable online presence for me to feel safe booking with them from the US. Trust me, I researched a lot of companies, and was very excited to find a company that gave me peace of mind but not overcharge. From the very beginning, I dealt with Mairobi, who was more than helpful in answering questions, quickly responding to emails, and going above and beyond in planning our excursions. We had a large group of 37 people and Mairobi did everything to accommodate us. Booking with her was very easy. After lengthy back and forth emails, I booked the Paradise island tour and paid the deposit through PayPal. (The deposit was for 10%, which I found reasonable, especially when other tour groups were asking me to pay 30% upfront). Unfortunately, members of my group changed their minds, and we ended up changing to the Gri Gri Lagoon Special tour a few days before our arrival. Mairobi easily set it up without any problems. The tour guide (Otoniel) was professional and extremely friendly and patient. The tour was supposed to be from 8am to 430pm, but Oto was very flexible and allowed us to stay in locations longer than scheduled depending on the mood of the group. We didn’t get home until 730pm, which is not a complaint, because we felt like we got the most out of the tour. The members of our group enjoyed it very much and commented on how they got to do and see so much in one day. The bus was also clean and air-conditioned (which you might be surprised is not common with other tour companies here). Because of this tour, we ended up booking the City Tour with Mairobi for the end of the week, this time with only a group of 6 people. Still, Mairobi was more than accommodating in booking. Being at the resort, I had limited resources of communication, and our emails were not working. I tried to book on Friday, and she made the effort to call me in my room at 1030pm that night to confirm our tour for the next day. With just 6 people, I didn’t expect a private tour, but we got our own van with our own guide (Oto again!). I also didn't expect a group discount, but Mairobi gave us a very fair price, much less than advertised on their website (without me even asking for a discount). And the tour is usually during weekdays in the morning, but Mairobi scheduled around us. We were able to book on a Saturday afternoon. And again, Oto was flexible and checked with us on what we wanted to do, where we wanted to stay longer, what we wanted to see. We also booked airport transportation through Isaira. They were punctual. The vans were clean and air-conditioned. We did not have to put down a deposit to book (as opposed to other companies), and only paid upon arrival of destination. And Mairobi was great in emailing the day before to confirm times and locations, for the shuttles and the tours. It was the best experience I’ve had with any tour company. Mairobi gave personal attention the whole time, and even stopped on the bus during our tour to introduce herself. The service and professionalism here is incredible. Oto was a great tour guide. And for that type of attention, the prices were amazing. In the DR, you had to haggle for everything. But Mairobi just quoted us prices that were more than fair and didn't need any haggling. I would highly, glowingly recommend this company to anyone. I cannot compliment Mairobi and Isaira Tours enough. I had complete ease of mind doing business with them. My uncle booked a snorkeling tour with our resort and it was a complete disaster (unprofessional, late, unsafe buses, rude). He wished he had listened to me and booked with Isaira instead. If going to Puerto Plata, don’t waste your time looking elsewhere and just go ahead and book with Isaira for everything.

Tailor Made Tour - First off, we were a group of 8 and therefore it was easy to book a private tour. We contacted Isaira after reading some good reviews on Tripadvisor asking about the Blue Lagoon tour. Mairobi emailed me back within 24 hours. Since we were a little larger group, she was able to make the tour exactly what we wanted it to be. I even called Mairobi once to figure out which would be the best day for us to book. She was incredibly helpful. In the end, we decided on the Blue Lagoon tour with stops at Brugal Rum Factory, a mini-zoo with crocodiles, iguanas, birds, an organic cocoa/coffee plantation where we had a tour and sampled the fruits and vegetables grown there, Gri Gri Lagoon with a mangrove boat tour where we visited a cave and 'the swimming pool' a cove where we were able to jump off the boat and swim, Playa Grande where we stopped for lunch (which was included) and swam, and then ended at the Blue Lagoon where we were again able to swim. The day was PERFECT! Our guide, Otonielo was very knowledgable about DR and everything we visited, giving us history and information. Our driver Oliver was very professional and an excellent driver. I could not have asked for a better tour. I actually ended up booking a second tour of our trip with the AirCanada Vactions rep and after the tour, wished I had booked with Isaira. When I return to DR, I will definitely book with Isaira and I will tell all my friends to book with them too! 5 STARS FOR SURE!

Best Birthday Ever! - My girlfriends and I took the Catamaran Banana Republic & Gri Gri Tours. The beaches were amazing! The staff was nice and entertaining. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the DR. One of the best trips and tours ever! They picked us up on time, no issues at all.

Great Tour Company - Before heading down to the Dominican, I wanted to look for things to do while we were staying at the ICD. I came across Isaira tours on this site. Checked out their website and ended up booking three trips with them. We choose sunset horseback ride, Gri-Gri Lagoon/Playa Grande and Ocean World. Isaira Tours was very easy to use. They returned emails quickly. Website was easy to use and navigate. We payed through Paypal ahead of time which was easy and convenient. Martin called us when we arrived to make sure everything was ok with us and to confirm our first pick-up time. When they picked us up the for the first tour we were given our vouchers for the other two days. Prices seemed fair as well. Less than hotel/tour reps, but still more than the beach sellers. I would recommend this company to anyone.
