Arrival at Kigali International Airport

Kigali - The driver will transport you from Kigali International Airport to Virunga Homestay in Musanze, near Volcanoes National Park. This scenic journey takes approximately 2 hours, offering a chance to admire the beauty of Kigali, renowned as the cleanest city in Africa.

Bisoke Volcano Hiking

Mount Bisoke - Embark on a hike up Mount Bisoke, reaching an elevation of 3,711 meters to the crater lake. Enjoy the stunning natural views and spot various bird species along the way. After the hike, return to Virunga Homestay to prepare for the next day’s activities. Additional excursions can be arranged based on travelers’ preferences.

Twin Lakes (Burera and Ruhondo)

Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo - Start your day early at 6 A.M. with a delicious breakfast before departing from Virunga Homestay in Musanze city to the Twin Lakes (Ruhondo and Burera). Enjoy a variety of lake activities such as kayaking, fishing, swimming, and mountain biking. After a fulfilling day, you will return to Virunga Homestay by 2 P.M.

Other excursions can be organized around the tourism-rich Musanze city. While admission to the Twin Lakes is free, activities are subject to fees.

Musanze District - On the return journey to Kigali International Airport, enjoy the sights of Musanze, a city known for tourism, as well as the vibrant city of Kigali.
