This trail offers panoramic views of the mountain’s dual aspects as you make your descent via the Marangu gate. In contrast to the well-trodden Marangu route, Rongai offers a more solitary experience with a higher likelihood of reaching the summit. Although the scenery may be less varied, it provides an excellent opportunity to observe Kilimanjaro’s wildlife, including various bird species and colobus monkeys.
