In the Serengeti among lions with Savannah Explorers - We returned a few days ago from the third consecutive Serengeti safari with Savannah Explorers, after the great experiences of 2022 and 2023, always of a week and in the second half of July. Also this year we had a great time and we can confirm that Savannah offers everything you need to organize a perfect safari: prepared and motivated guides, Land Rover in very good condition (this year we had a brand new and really beautiful jeep) and systematically checked by their mechanics, an efficient office, ready to meet different needs (they designed us a tailor-made safari) and any emergencies (the Ethiopian Airlines had lost our hold luggage on the outbound trip and they recovered it, making it arrive at the facility where we were staying in the Serengeti after a few days). Our Guide was, as in the previous two years, Abia Simon, whom we now consider a friend and about whom we do not have enough superlatives: excellent knowledge of the Italian language, extraordinary observer of the nature of the Serengeti, who really knows how the streets of his home and passionate about his work. Our main goal was to see My Saves animals, lions: we saw some wonderful ones, perhaps among the most beautiful seen in our many stays in Africa, with National Geographic documentary sightings. Majestic and imposing adult males with spectacular mane, beautiful lionesses with their cubs, in different areas of the park, even the most remote and little frequented. We stayed at three different properties: one night at the Marera Mountain View Lodge in Karatu (owned by Savannah), three at the Signature Luxury Tented Safari Camp (Makoma Hills area) and the last three at the Kifaru Luxury Tented Lodge (Ikoma area, also this property is owned by Savannah). All excellent and comfortable. Little else to say: impeccable. Highly recommended.

Excellent experience with Savannah Explorers - We had excellent service with Counsellor Samwel and we went on a 6-day safari with Experience Guide Thomas. He was very attentive to our needs and very good at finding animals in the savannah. The LandCruiser truck was modern and washed every day. We recommend this company without hesitation.

Tarangiri, Ngorongoro, Serengeti - I was fascinated and amazed beyond all expectations. The credit certainly goes to the place, green and rich (after the rainy period), to the moment chosen (mild climate and migration period for herbivores) and obviously to the animals. Daudi, our guide, was able to enhance every aspect, giving us time to fully enjoy it. I would like to say a few words about him who entered our hearts in a short time, with him we spent happy moments laughing and joking, but also more serious moments in which he made himself available to answer our not always easy questions. Entire pages would not be enough to tell everything, but I would like to conclude by saying that Daudi not only made us 'see' Africa, but, as far as possible, he made us enter the African spirit and for this I will never stop thanking him. A final thank you goes to the various staff of the Lodges where we stayed, friendly and helpful, they welcomed us with professionalism and kindness, helping us in any situation. I couldn't ask for anything better from this holiday. Thank you all.

Savannah Explorers Delivered an Unbelievable Safari Experience for Our Family - We did a seven-night trip with Savannah Explorers in March 2024 and would highly recommend them and their on-the-ground guide Gerry. From booking the trip with Micky to landing and making small changes along the way the team made things easy and helped us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. The animal sights are amazing and Gerry made sure he knew what we wanted so we saw and/or experienced more of that. For example, we were as interested in understanding the local culture and he arranged a side-trip that was life-changing for our family. It does matter what tour company you choose because certain companies have better lodging options, employ guides that know the animals (including locations) and terrain especially well and understand that their guests are often out of their element and will never leave your side. We are well-traveled and can say unequivocally that Savannah Explorers is a great choice for a Tanzania Safari Adventure. March also seems like a good time to go because it is the beginning of low season but the migrations can still be active as they were for us.

An experience to live at least once in a lifetime - We were welcomed at the airport by the guide Daudi who immediately took care of us with a big smile. Daudi is a very knowledgeable boy on everything relating to Safari and beyond. He spoke the Italian language perfectly. Very nice and punctual. The car was very comfortable and always spotless. Every day we found fresh water and very good food. A holiday to definitely do again The facilities are also very comfortable N.B. Even outside of his working hours, Daudi was always present when we needed him due to a health problem with our daughter.

An unforgettable Safari with Thomas - Thomas, my guide, made my first Safari unforgettable. Kind, friendly, professional but above all with a great passion, he went out of his way to show us the big 5 and he succeeded! We also saw the leopard... an unforgettable experience! The Serengeti with Thomas is a journey within a journey. Excellent organization of Savannah, beautiful accommodations, especially the Mareira and the Kifaru tente lodge. Staff always hospitable and with a smile that makes you feel at home. The experience in Mataruni with Jonshon, another highly trained local guide, was very beautiful. I will be back soon! Honeymoon in the savannah - Our guide Richard was phenomenal - he is a perfect driver and a very professional person. We took tons of photos and slept in beautiful lodges. A journey that we will carry in our hearts.

Savannah Explorers Delivered! - Our tour guide Thomas “Uncle T” and was amazing. I would thoroughly recommend this company if you’re considering a Tanzania Safari! Savannah Explorers custom made our itinerary based on what we wanted to see and how. They did an excellent job delivering that. We did a 5 day tour, but chose to add on some additional stops. This meant that we only stayed one night at each place. Which for us was just fine. I was concerned booking outside the USA, but I booked directly and there was zero issue. This is a large company and very professional. Don’t be worried about that and save money by booking directly. We visited Tarangire National Park first. Elephants. Hundreds of them. You can’t miss them! They all looked healthy and happy. The park is beautiful and is worth spending a full day or two. It was my favorite! Second we went to Serengeti. We were lucky to be there during the zebra and wildebeest migration. Thousands and thousands of them beyond the eye could see. It was truly an incredible sight. The only negative about Serengeti is there’s a lot of other safari vehicles and sometimes dozens surround one or two animals. To avoid that, I’d get up early. Our Guide Thomas was willing to do that. He had a lot of experience and went far from the main part of the park, to try to give us that more private experience. It meant more driving, but we were ok with that. Third we went Ngorongoro Crater. Beautiful. Quite a variety of terrain and a lot of different animals. Lastly we went to Lake Manyara. Lots of monkeys, some elephants and giraffes, and bugs. If you’re really sensitive to bugs like mosquitoes, I’d skip staying there. It’s small and easy to see right at the end of your tour for a few hours.

Amazing safari experience - We had an amazing experience with Savannah Explorers! David was our guide for a 4 day safari and he was awesome! He was very informative and professional, as well as flexible and accommodating with the itinerary allowing us to make changes in the schedule that would better suit us. We were able to see all of the animals we wanted and all of the lodges were great. Would definitely recommend or book with them again!
