Additional Information

Much of Rome’s tourism concentrates around the famed Colosseum and Roman Forum, two of the most popular tourist attractions. During this small-group tour, you’ll get the chance to see these wonders of ancient Rome in a unique, thorough, and convenient way — with a local expert guide who will highlight important facts and stories for you.

Step into the Colosseum to explore a place from the distant past. Once inside, your guide will tell you about the amphitheater’s history. You’ll get to see evidence of Nero’s great fire, discover grisly details about the gladiators’ games, and unveil the truth about the many myths surrounding the place. One of our guides, Valerie, is a professional archaeologist who enjoys bringing history to life in a fun and accessible way.

Your tour will continue to outstanding sites like the Arch of Constantine and Palatine Hill. Afterward, you’ll visit the largest inner-city archaeological area in the world — the Roman Forum.

Spectacular experience and guide - Adriana was an AMAZING guide. She was not only kind & patient but especially knowledgeable. I learned so much and she tried to keep us in the shade when possible to stay cool on a hot July day of almost 90*. Grazie Adriana!

Incredible English Tour with Andrada - Our guide was outstanding, if you can ask for Andrada. Her English is perfect and she speaks clearly and at a good volume. She is incredibly friendly and patient. Her knowledge of the area was incredible and it was a relaxed but amazing time. The colesseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum are spectacular and should NOT be missed while in Rome.

Disappointing - While we got to see the Colosseum and the Forum on a gorgeous meeting, our tour guide was extremely soft spoken and unenthusiastic, adding nothing to the experience.

Don't book with this tour operator. - The tour we had booked was booked for 9am. We were advised to arrive for the tour 'at least 10-15 minutes before entrance time', so this is what we did and arrived at 8:40am. We went to the meeting point as instructed and was told to wait outside with the other tours and look for the Musement guide. We waited with all the other tours, but as they started to leave, we were still waiting. At 8:55am, we went back to the kiosk and were told 'these tours always leave early, that tour left at 8:30am'. We then walked over to the Colosseum gate to see if we could join the tour from there but was told no by the security guard and you that you had to have the downloaded ticket that is given to you by the guide when you arrive. Again, the security guard said 'it's terrible, tours do this all the time and leave early'. We then walked back to the meeting point as we didn't know what else to do and had already paid £106 for this tour. We met a very helpful American tour guide who explained that this was a terrible problem that tourists frequently face and our only option would be to pay again for another tour if we still wanted to do it. As we were in Rome for our wedding anniversary, this was something we had looked forward to doing for months and so paid 120 euros for another tour, as well as another 18 euros each at the gate for entrance. We did have an amazing tour and would definitely recommend seeing the Colosseum. Upon returning home, I emailed Musement explaining the entire situation. They apologised and advised me they would speak to the tour guide. They then came back to me and said that the tour guide did not leave early and out of the 16 people on the tour, we were the two only 'no-shows'. I stressed my unhappinness with the fact that this was untrue as we had followed our instructions given and arrived at the meeting point 20 minutes before departure of the tour. I asked if this had been the case that we were 'no-shows', why were our names not called out by the guide? Currently, I have been told by Musement that there is nothing they can do and they have refused to provide a refund. We have found the customer service to be appalling and I am still seeking a refund of £106 for the tickets originally booked through Musement.
