Here, with the aid of your guide, you can discover the birthplace of one of the greatest civilisations in history, and explore the ancient ruins of the Imperial Palace, surrounded by towering pine trees and spectacular views of the Circus Maximus and the Roman Forum below.
- Roman Forum - It is vital to visit the political, social, and commercial heart of downtown Rome to truly understand the spirit of life in Roman times. Here you will walk original Roman roads, the Via Sacra and the Via Nova, which weave amongst ornate arches, towering temples, and the spirits of the myth-shrouded Romulus and the world-famous Julius Caesar. Although less than half of the forum is complete today, your guides will fill in all the empty spaces with their extensive knowledge and passion, which will restore the city to its former glory.

As you move to the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum, you’ll walk in the footsteps of Emperors through the ruins of the Imperial Palace and follow the routes of great senators and orators as we wind through the towering temples and archways of the Forum. Your expert guides will bring the hustle and bustle of the ancient city back to life through incredible stories and facts - some of them as old as 2000 years.
Please note we will either start with the Colosseum or the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill depending on the time of tickets we can purchase
- Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers’ full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
- Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
- Please note we will either start with the Colosseum or the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill depending on the time of tickets we can purchase
- Colosseum admission is free on the first Sunday of the month. Tours are discounted on these days.
- Please be aware that we offer two Arena tour packages: The VIP Colosseum - Arena Access option grants entry to the Colosseum, Arena floor, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum. The Arena, Roman Forum & Palatine option provides access to the Arena floor via an exclusive entrance and continues with visits to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Arena, Roman Forum& Palatine option does not visit the Colosseum, it access to Arena floor only.

Great tour given by an excellent guide! - I’ve been on over 10 guided tours across five countries in the last 15 days, and Carpe Diem Tours was by far the best experience! From the beginning, communication was excellent. They sent detailed instructions along with pictures of the meeting place, which made it easy to find our guide. The headsets provided worked perfectly, and we had no issues hearing our amazing guide, Daniele. He was incredibly friendly, took his time where possible, and made it easy to follow him even in a crowd. Highly recommend the Rome: Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Forum Small-Group Guided Tour (and guide)!

Awesome tour of colosseum and forum with Fi - Our tour guide Fi (Felicity) was totally awesome. With a small group - we were 7 and the max is 15 you get to see and learn so much more. We had earpieces so we could always hear but they were not needed much in such a small group. We had been to the colosseum once before on a tour and we learnt so much more and loved seeing and hearing all about the arena. We were able to see so much without queueing and get great photos. Fi is so knowledgable enthusiastic and fun we enjoyed every moment. Palatine hill and the Roman forum was very interesting so pleased we visited with Fi as our guide. Our other visitors agreed it was just the best tour. Highly recommended.

Love the Tour! - It was a hot humid day but our guide Iliara was so patient with everyone, very informative with wonderful sense of humor. The tour started by touring the Colosseum and learn about it then we head to the Palatine Hill and Forum where the tour ended. An abundance of information we received during the tour, many of it were new to us. Definitely worth the hassle during the hot days of Rome.

Simply the best. - Our guide, Fe, was fabulous! She had us laughing and learning the entire time. Our entry was expedited, we were able to get good photos. And we had a small group, which is necessary in such a crowded setting! This was one of the best tour experiences I’ve ever had. Seriously.

Bucket list experience ticked off - Great trip, informative but thought we was a little rushed by our guide. She more than once said to member's of the party ro keep walking but one was expecting and the heat was intense. She had only sropped a little longer for water. Thought this was highly inappropriate.
