Highlights
  • Vatican Museums - Enjoy our specially designed route showing you all the famous works along with our favorite lesser-known sights.
  • Sphere within a Sphere - Entering the peaceful Pinecone Courtyard, you’ll pass a large bronze statue symbolizing the emergence of the new world from the old designed for the Vatican by well-known Italian artist Arnaldo Pomodoro.
  • Cortile della Pigna - Your stops include the Belvedere Courtyard with Apollo Belvedere & Laocoön & His Sons, the Pinecone Courtyard, the Gallery of the Candelabra, the Gallery of the Maps, and the Gallery of the Tapestries and amazing views of St Peter’s Basilica all in one incredibly planned itinerary.
  • Stanze di Raffaello - Visit the Raphael Rooms, widely considered to be among the most beautifully-frescoed interiors on earth.
  • Sistine Chapel - Step inside the Sistine Chapel to marvel at Michelangelo’s frescoes. Your guide can’t speak inside, but before they take you in they’ll tell you what to look for and give you the surprisingly acrimonious story behind the famous room. Soak up the little details like Michelangelo’s self-portrait and hidden insults in the Last Judgement.
  • St. Peter’s Basilica - Skip-the-line into St. Peter’s using a special, group-only door. Listen to your guide explain the story behind the church’s 120-year construction and learn about the precious art and treasures inside. A Wonderful Choice - Wonderful! It was a LOT of walking but we made it! Our tour guide, Francesca? (I forgot), was so full of history and presented us with so much information. She was entertaining and kind, as well. The ability to skip the lines made it easier as it was a very large crowd. Having seen many photos of the Sistine Chapel and paintings from the museum, it was amazing to see these historical sites in person. St. Peter's Basilica was jaw dropping. I'm so glad we chose that option. An important note: our tour was originally scheduled for another day but that morning I woke up sick and could not go. My husband called and the representative he spoke with was so kind and for a small fee, we were able to reschedule. I would definitely book with this company again.

A Well-Painted Picture of the Vatican - We were well guided through a sea of people during the new peak season. Enza was knowledgeable, humourous, sometimes skeptical but I didn’t feel just bombarded with facts, but given a sense of the place and its personalities, families and their effects on the Vatican, particularly the artists. The collusion of members of the church during WW2, sex scandals and other less positive effects of the Church. Some of its more ecumenical work was identified.

Excellent Vatican Tour - Our guide was very understandable and knowledgeable about the vast amount of beautiful statues, artwork, and architecture of the Vatican environment. She ensured a fulsome outline of all areas visited with excellent information and historical perspectives. Clearly, the private radios are an absolute necessity given the crowds that visit daily and proved very valuable throughout the excursion. This tour is easily walkable and the incredible display of religious artifacts as well as the sheer magnitude and scale of each of the rooms and halls is absolutely breathtaking. Our only disappointment was the inability to get into the St. Peter’s Basilica due to religious events underway at the time - sadly this was only to be discovered at the time of tour commencement. However, the guide used the extra time to provide some additional information about the exterior of the cathedral and the world famous gathering square. Highly recommended!

Fabulous place, too many people - Claudia was extremely knowledgeable, and the Vatican is amazing- full of art and history- and also people! I have a slight mobility issue, and found it very difficult to keep up with her, and therefore also had trouble understanding what she was referring to as she explained the works. It was a bit frustrating, and it affected my enjoyment of the experience. Certainly not her fault that there are so many people, but just slightly modifying the pace would have made it a better experience.
