Tour worth doing - The first part of the tour to Hadrian’s villa was very interesting & related to the second part of the tour. To visualise the area better it would’ve been good to have pointed out by our guide a room with a scale model of the site in its original form. My husband happened to pop in & see it as the rest of us was being ushered towards to the exit. The lunch was very good & enjoyed. The Villa D’Este was absolutely stunning! Will not spoil the surprise but a treat occurs around 2:30 & was fabulous. Great tour.

Enjoyable day trip - Joseph/Giuseppe was a very good guide. We thought lunch was also good (three courses, lemon sorbet andwine). Since the meeting place on Cavour is just a doorway, it would be helpful to have the representative there earlier, with some sort of flag.

August visit - The tour was worthwhile, the temperature was a killer; 98 degrees! Tour was about 25 pp. Large bus, plenty of room, great air conditioning. Quite the contrast between Hadrian's Villa in dry ruins and hugely spread out, and Villa d'Este in Tivoli, interior intact, and water everywhere. This tour is not for those with ANY concerns about walking uphill for 1/4 mile to enter Hadrian's Villa, or returning to Tivoli town level after descending 150 meters down the gardens at Villa d'Este. We did not take the included lunch option. Instead we ate at an outdoor cafe for 13 euros, total.

Day Trip from Rome - Our guide, Giuseppe, joined us at the bus station in Tivoli. Bus ride was pleasant but no background information was provided because the guide didn’t ride with us. Once at the Villa Adrianna, we were taken back to the year 120AD where we visited the partially restored ruins of the villa estate. Villa d’Este was the jewel of the trip. The gardens and spectacular fountains were presented to us by our guide. There’s a lot of difficult walking and step climbing at both Villas. If you’re disabled, you will not be able to walk through the Villas. We(77 and 73 yo) made it through easily. Lunch was pleasant and a good value. Lunch was served in a classic small Italian trattoria in Tivoli. I recommend the tour highly.

Tivoli - First stop was the ruins, by the time we arrived after leaving Rome at 9.30am it was mid morning and walking around in the scorching heat was exhausting, there was no shop to purchase water or food. On the website it would be great if Viator could advise tourists to where comfortable shoes and bring water bottles so that we can fill them at the water taps. The guide was excellent and did her best to keep us moving, We arrived at the restaurant and it was a simple lunch choice of 2 pasta, 2 meats with salad and water. It would have been better to skip the lunch and order straight from the menu or there were many options on the Main Street for the same price. The villa and gardens were the best and definitely worth the travel.

Great day - Wonderful day, beautiful villas , stunning views and loads of walking. Downside is the time allowed in each place. Both villas are worth more of an explore than allowed

Worth the money - Tour is worth the price, our tour guide was wonderful!!! Don’t book tour with lunch! Go walk the town and get good food! What we had was like premade fast food Italian with no flavor and the staff was slow. But all in all a 6 to 7 our tour for 80 dollars with transportation was worth it. And it gets you out of Rome for a day. It’s August and the heat is brutal!

Great tour, good value - worth doing - This was a well run & interesting tour which we really enjoyed. The lunch was a little average (the usual tour stop spot) and there were better options in Tivoli right near the group restaurant. Hadrian's Villa is incredible, really worth seeing as is Villa d'Este. Good value considering it was peak season.

Beautiful tour - Beautiful tour but Very strenuous walk up and down with few breaks to wait for elderly. The tour bus was older and not very comfortable.
